Guilty Pleasures- To Sin With TV

30 Apr

I’ve had a lot going on of late, so it’s been difficult to work my way through it all in order to write a post. Apologies. Thankfully, my favorite minion has been on the ball! But I’m pulling it together today in order to start new series of posts- Guilty Pleasures. Like the title says, these are things that I love and adore, but I feel a little guilty for enjoying it. I obviously have a lot of these- you already know of my love for the bad movie but here are some more.

Actually, to ease into it… I’m just going to talk about the TV series from this last season that I consider my guilty pleasures. Continue reading

They say it’s my BIRTHDAY! Cake for ALL!

14 Apr

Happy Birthday to me! Last year I merely shared a pic of me with my nieces and left it at that.

This year… let’s talk about the other important things that’ve happened on my day- Continue reading

Do I Hear A Waltz? Track 3

6 Apr

I’m back with more random ramblings about music I like. This is the third of these posts, so please take a peek at the previous posts- here & here– to fully understand my eclectic tastes. Today’s pair of albums is no different- though a bit less rock n roll… Continue reading

Wandering WonderCon and other bunny day adventures

2 Apr

I’m going to start off by saying that it’s difficult to attend a con for a single day (especially when it is the last day of the con) when all of the tweets and facebook posts about the con during the previous days make you desperate to be there. I mean… the Geek and Sundry Tabletop Day was happening during WonderCon… and OMG! so many awesome people there! Which means that those people would be at WonderCon all day… which means that I fail for not being there on Tabletop Day. Sigh. Initially, I had intended to be at WonderCon all weekend but life happens and I didn’t want to miss celebrating my friend Phil X‘s birthday at his surprise party. Priorities, amiright? Sigh. Fairy Tales are just not the same anymore…

21 Mar

So in my recent binge of Syfy channel films, I’ve taken to finally watching the channel’s versions of the fairy tales/fantasies- Tin Man, Alice, and Neverland. I’ve stated a few times that I’m not big on things that are altered from the original. Why change a good story? Or song? But every once in a while I give these things a chance.

Random off schedule post because… it’s a T-rex.

21 Feb

So, apparently Primeval: New World (a current obsession of mine, obviously) had the plug pulled this morning. And via twitter and Facebook, I’ve been participating in the posts to save it- it’s a fun show! And sometime earlier today, I RT’ed or “liked” the following pic…  Continue reading

The Four Letter Word in Sci-Fi Shows: Cancelled

11 Feb

It’s that awful moment during November sweeps, or during summer, refreshing your internet feed on twitter and tumblr when you see it- your favorite show has been CANCELED. Saddened and dismayed you take to the internet, posting comments and signing petitions, uploading rants about networks and their executives to YouTube  After a few days, sometimes a few weeks in rare occasion, the average person moves on to another show, another fandom. Still, there are always shows that linger in people’s thoughts years after cancellation  with fans always hoping that somehow the show will find a resurrection, as Firefly found with Serenity (although lets be honest, most of us would back a Kickstarter campaign to bring the show back in any form), Futurama found with another network, and of course the resurrection of Doctor Who in 2005, now one of the most popular shows in both Britain and the USA.

NerdLush 2012 highlights!

31 Dec

As 2012 has been the first year of NerdLush (and THANK YOU for our great success!), I wanted to be sure to look back on some of the highlights of the year- not just ours but those of nerdy & geekyness. This post contains input from all of the NerdLush contributors of 2012- myself, Stewart, and Emily. We opened it up to new contributors Natasha and D2 but haven’t heard their thoughts yet… maybe they’ll get off their tushies and comment 😉

Enjoy the collection of highlights! Continue reading
