Dusting Off The Shelf: Letter Z!!!

13 Nov

And finally we’ve reached the end of this series. Perhaps I’ll do it again. As noted in my last post, HQ recently moved and in doing so I found even more DVDs that I own and have never watched. I really need to stop doing that. And to end the series, I thought we’d go out on a silly note- I give you Zerophilia.

If I can just have 5 minutes of your time ~ Last Girl Standing

18 Sep

It’s a busy week around here, but we want to take a moment to share about a new web series. If you remember, last year we ran a little piece on Nights at the Round Table– a little series that made us giggle. Well, the creators have a new series to share and we’ve got the low-down… straight from the boss’ mouths!

Can you spare a dime? Check out the PUNK QUEEN!

3 May

One of the really fun things about running NerdLush is that sometimes we get contacted (or seek out the info ourselves) to help spread the word on a cool, independent project. Since we began, we’ve run several posts talking about the highs and lows of independently (or crowd-sourcing) a project, even enjoyed interviewing several awesome people in regards to their projects.  Continue reading

Guest Post!! ~ All Star Cast Pieces Together Lego Movie Magic

28 Feb

Our pal  Marc is back with another guest post! Marc watches a lot of movies and reviews them on TwoOhSix.com all while defying the conventions of what a “movie critic” is typically supposed to be.

*****************************************************************

Warner Brothers and Village Roadshow Pictures have joined forces with the Lego Company to produce a movie featuring their iconic products. This animated 3D movie features the voice talents of Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Charlie Day, Will Forte, Jonah Hill, Cobie Smulders, Channing Tatum, and Morgan Freeman and was directed by Phile Lord and Christopher Miller.

I still love 80’s movies, part deux!

22 Feb

I’m back with more 80’s movies that I love. Many of the movies on my list are in my current DVD collection (or they were in my VHS collection), but they are all things that I’ll watch over and over when I land on them on cable… Continue reading

I still love 80’s movies!

16 Feb

The other day I was linked to an article that claimed 80’s movies were better than today. I agreed with every point they made and it inspired me to think about my favorite 80s movies. I thought about making a top ten list, but I really couldn’t rank the titles that I loved- my love for them changes daily. So I thought I would take a post, or two, and list out some of my favorite films from my childhood. I would love to hear some of your favorites and/or your thoughts on these films in the comments! So I went to the theatre… and learned about quantum objects.

29 Oct

I want to sit here and tell you all about NerdLush friend, Kirsten Vangsness’, one woman show, MESS, but honestly there is no way for me to describe it to you. I could tell you that it is a magical one hour plus of comedic genius- complete with musical numbers and choreography. Or I could tell you it was about kittens.

None of that actually tells you anything. But it is probably the best I can do. Continue reading

If you could… Would you?

23 Oct

Last night I went with a friend to see a screening of the new Rachel McAdams movie, About Time (in theaters on November 8th). It was not what I expected. It was so much more. I honestly loved it. I’m not saying it was oscar caliber or anything- it’s rom com inside a dramedy; but it’s sweet and touching and funny and heartfelt. I loved it.

But it made me wonder- If you could… would you? Continue reading

Let’s Talk About Something New~ Nights At The Round Table

Nights At The Round Table

Dee2 here…

You know after the opening shot and the old school game theme music that you’re in for a treat. Think “The Guild” mixed with a little “I.T. Crowd”. I think they’re onto something here. The acting is pretty good and the characters memorable and funny without trying too hard.
