I am apparently in a sappy romantic mood following that last one because this weeks DVD is Me Before You. Course, I picked a movie that needed even more kleenex than the last one. Good lord, if I keep this up, I should just buy stock in the company!
One of the really fun things about running NerdLush is that sometimes we get contacted (or seek out the info ourselves) to help spread the word on a cool, independent project. But I also hate them.

Last night I went with a friend to see a screening of the new Rachel McAdams movie, About Time (in theaters on November 8th). It was not what I expected. It was so much more. I honestly loved it. I’m not saying it was oscar caliber or anything- it’s rom com inside a dramedy; but it’s sweet and touching and funny and heartfelt. I loved it.

For years I’ve lived in a bit of a bubble- some of it by choice, most of it due to necessity. I don’t get out to movies often (those things are frickin’ expensive!). I don’t listen to the radio because everything sounds the same (my recent addiction to the broadway channel on my xm is different)(see my post on my eclectic mp3 collection). And I don’t get into too many new shows. I don’t have TV, cable or otherwise, and haven’t gotten decent reception for years… I live on DVDs and what can be found on the internet. So it kills me when people go crazy for a new show. Especially when that show doesn’t magically appear on Hulu etc to give me a chance to watch it too. Continue reading
I have, in my collection of DVDs, a large number of old, short-lived, or maybe little remembered series. I might throw Firefly into this group, but if you call yourself a geek or a nerd, you ought to be familiar with that one. So I’m thinking that from time to time it might be fun to discuss one of these dearly departed television series. Not recaps, per se… just a wee post about them.
