Last year I wanted to learn more about creating “crazy” characters and utilized social media to reach out to actors, writers, and creators in order to learn the different perspectives. As a mental health professional, I have found that I lose a bit when I watch something as I tend to sit and observe the characters- looking to diagnose, to see their flaws, to learn who they are, etc. Usually I can turn it off and focus on the story but sometimes it is harder than others. Especially after a long day with clients.
The Power of Social Media
15 OctI’ve often been asked by people who don’t use any form of Social Media as to what the point of it is. This got me thinking as to just how powerful a tool it could be, so I thought about my own experiences with Twitter and how just one tweet from Wil Wheaton 18 months ago changed the entire direction of my life. Let’s Talk About Something New~ Nights At The Round Table
15 JunDee2 here…
You know after the opening shot and the old school game theme music that you’re in for a treat. Think “The Guild” mixed with a little “I.T. Crowd”. I think they’re onto something here. The acting is pretty good and the characters memorable and funny without trying too hard.

NerdLush Asks~ Interview With a Voice Actress… (part 1!)
20 JulBack in the summer of 2008, when I first joined the world of twitter, I somehow became connected to a lovely woman in the UK- Amelia Tyler. Turned out the Amelia was an actress and a bit of a geek. We hit it off swimmingly. For the life of me, I cannot remember what started it but I’m glad it did. In my continuing adventures interviewing interesting people, I thought it’d be fun to touch base with Amelia and learn a thing or two about voice acting. As you’ll read, I opted to focus on that area because I feel like the public has a decent understanding more general acting but perhaps doesn’t know a lot about the more focused area of voice acting. Personally, I have a learned a lot in just the last year as I’ve gotten to know more and more actors and seen some BTS exploring the creation of characters. Definitely a more… demanding(?) style then I had thought. Which makes sense considering that everything the actor has to convey has to be done using just the words you are saying and how you say them. So let’s get some insight into Amelia and this world~ Continue reading
