As 2012 has been the first year of NerdLush (and THANK YOU for our great success!), I wanted to be sure to look back on some of the highlights of the year- not just ours but those of nerdy & geekyness. Yeah, so I suck. In July I wrote about SDCC and how awesome it was and promised I would have my videos up soon… but it’s almost December and I’ve just barely started posting them! Here is pt 1 of Joss Whedon’s panel on the Friday of SDCC. I had to post to my other youtube page because I didn’t want to cut it- though it’s still in two pieces. I hope you enjoy it. For a date night, and also my birthday present from Mike, we decided to participate in something a little different this year. *Cue the eerie Halloween soundtrack*
Out of the chaos, we emerge exhausted & broke, but having had a good time with great experiences, we arrive home satisfied. Here’s how it played out:
While living in Chicago for a short time, I didn’t get out and do as many nerdy things as I’d liked- I’ve actually done more nerdy things in Chicago since I moved back to California! But one of the things I did do was head out to the Creation Con Supernatural event in 2007. At the time, I’d never seen Supernatural (I was working on my masters, had only public TV, and was very sheltered due to being a California kid living in a city that actually had WEATHER!) so I opted to go to the con for two reasons- two guests that I adored and a few friends from around the state were heading in for it. However, I came out of the weekend with a love for Jared and Jensen (damn them for being awesome) and a need to watch the show. Continue reading
Mars is easily my favorite planet. In middle school, in order to get into the super fancy engineering academy high school, I wrote an essay about how much I wanted to be the first woman on Mars. And I have evey intention of one day taking a vacation to Mars (probably when I’m elevendy.) So, with that being said…
Eh, this is a short one to share- if you haven’t already seen- that my SDCC post written for Action Chick went up recently- wherein I lament the lines, avoid Con Crud, and share what it’s like to attend (for those who’ve never been). Not much else to share in regards to this… I think that this finishes up the SDCC craziness for another year and thus you may now return to regularly scheduled lives. I hope you’ve enjoyed the tidbits and info as much as we here at NerdLush have enjoyed putting stuff together for you!
