As I was sitting at my moms this past weekend, watching the NCIS marathon on USA (as one would…), I was occasionally flipping over to Twitter to get the latest info (it’s better than wasting time trying to get info from online news sites) and discovered that Wil Wheaton was spending the afternoon cleaning out or going through old boxes in his garage. So it’s quite obvious if you read back thru my posts that I basically have no shame. I mean… one of my earliest posts shared that I grew up crushing on Wil Wheaton and Marc Singer– who, by the way, could not be more different. And let’s not forget that in order to celebrate our success, I threw a costumed karaoke party. Shameless. Alright, probably not as shameless as my friend Jacqui– ask her, she’ll tell you she has absolutely no shame. Continue reading
I really do love the I F*cking Love Science FB page and as such, here’s another gem I’m sharing that they’ve recently posted. Continue reading
I’ve just about had an assload of television… and yet the pilots keep vomiting out of the abyss of the network studios! So here we go kids, time for roundup #3!
I saw this on the I Fucking Love Science facebook page and had to keep it for myself- you just never know when you need a galaxy t-shirt! However, I couldn’t just keep it quiet… so… I’m sharing it with y’all!
For the record… it appears the original came from szmoon.net Continue reading
So… a wee bit ago, we at NerdLush celebrated six months of nerdery with a costumed karaoke party with friends and fans. I admit to being a wee bit nervous before the event… I mean, this is LA! People RSVP for things here all the time (and then don’t show up!) (or the opposite-show up without an RSVP). And up til the actual party night- after arriving at the venue- there was that little whisper saying I should be ready with “It’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to”… but then… everyone (plus more awesome people) showed up. And sang. And had costumes. And laughed. And had fun. And it was AWESOME.
The only thing that made me sad is that Stewart wasn’t able to be there with us. 😦 Continue reading
Out of the chaos, we emerge exhausted & broke, but having had a good time with great experiences, we arrive home satisfied. Here’s how it played out:
While living in Chicago for a short time, I didn’t get out and do as many nerdy things as I’d liked- I’ve actually done more nerdy things in Chicago since I moved back to California! But one of the things I did do was head out to the Creation Con Supernatural event in 2007. At the time, I’d never seen Supernatural (I was working on my masters, had only public TV, and was very sheltered due to being a California kid living in a city that actually had WEATHER!) so I opted to go to the con for two reasons- two guests that I adored and a few friends from around the state were heading in for it. However, I came out of the weekend with a love for Jared and Jensen (damn them for being awesome) and a need to watch the show. Continue reading
