It’s Pilot Season! It’s like Christmas, Black Friday, and a trip to the dentist all rolled into one glorious month of network prime time television!

Generally I hit up Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. And I’ve done a corn maze/haunted house deal out at Pierce College. I’d like to hit the Queen Mary this year- Emily went last year and said it was quite good. What else in LA area should I look into?
While living in Chicago for a short time, I didn’t get out and do as many nerdy things as I’d liked- I’ve actually done more nerdy things in Chicago since I moved back to California! But one of the things I did do was head out to the Creation Con Supernatural event in 2007. At the time, I’d never seen Supernatural (I was working on my masters, had only public TV, and was very sheltered due to being a California kid living in a city that actually had WEATHER!) so I opted to go to the con for two reasons- two guests that I adored and a few friends from around the state were heading in for it. I was raised, as loyal readers know, on classic Star Trek. So when a new series starts, you better believe I’m there watching. Of course, there hasn’t been a new one for a bit but series come out on Hulu and Netflix, as well as HD DVD releases all the time, so it’s a perfect time to catch up!

Let me just make a disclaimer that I don’t think I’ve actually sat through all of the first Expendables Movie (although I have it in bluray on my shelf…) nor have I seen it’s sequel. But I, being a fan of the action genre as a whole, really really wish there was a female version of this movie.
