Eureka! There be gold in that there TV show!

17 Dec

For years I’ve lived in a bit of a bubble- some of it by choice, most of it due to necessity. I don’t get out to movies often (those things are frickin’ expensive!). I don’t listen to the radio because everything sounds the same (my recent addiction to the broadway channel on my xm is different)(see my post on my eclectic mp3 collection). And I don’t get into too many new shows. I don’t have TV, cable or otherwise, and haven’t gotten decent reception for years… I live on DVDs and what can be found on the internet. So it kills me when people go crazy for a new show. Especially when that show doesn’t magically appear on Hulu etc to give me a chance to watch it too. Continue reading

TheatreNerds are for life!

5 Dec

The other day, Emily and I were driving through California on our way home from an adventure, listening to my favorite XM station (72, the Broadway station). I enjoy singing along or playing the guessing game (where I try and figure out what year the show/performance is from) and thankfully, Emily also enjoys the station- since I tortured her with it all weekend. 😉 Continue reading

Oh Captain, My Captain… Take a Seat and I’ll Explain My Adoration for Scott Bakula

5 Nov

So it’s quite obvious if you read back thru my posts that I basically have no shame.  I mean… one of my earliest posts shared that I grew up crushing on Wil Wheaton and Marc Singer– who, by the way, could not be more different. And let’s not forget that in order to celebrate our success, I threw a costumed karaoke party. Shameless. Alright, probably not as shameless as my friend Jacqui– ask her, she’ll tell you she has absolutely no shame. Continue reading

I saw this on the I Fucking Love Science facebook page and had to keep it for myself- you just never know when you need a galaxy t-shirt! However, I couldn’t just keep it quiet… so… I’m sharing it with y’all!

For the record… it appears the original came from szmoon.net Continue reading

Nerd Party For the Mother Effing Win!

2 Oct

So… a wee bit ago, we at NerdLush celebrated six months of nerdery with a costumed karaoke party with friends and fans. I admit to being a wee bit nervous before the event… I mean, this is LA! People RSVP for things here all the time (and then don’t show up!) (or the opposite-show up without an RSVP). And up til the actual party night- after arriving at the venue- there was that little whisper saying I should be ready with “It’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to”… but then… everyone (plus more awesome people) showed up. And sang. And had costumes. And laughed. And had fun. And it was AWESOME.

The only thing that made me sad is that Stewart wasn’t able to be there with us. 😦 Continue reading

SPAM! It’s What’s For Dinner!

30 Sep

I am amused by SPAM. I monitor the site comments pretty well and delete/block any and all bits of SPAM that appear. But sometimes… they make me laugh. So I decided that I really wanted to hang on to the comments while tossing what makes them SPAM.

I give you a new page on the site- Our Favorite SPAM. I’ll update it as I find entertaining SPAM.
