Baby, Can You Dig Your Ghost?

For a date night, and also my birthday present from Mike, we decided to participate in something a little different this year. *Cue the eerie Halloween soundtrack*

Back in September I had the chance to sit down with friend to the site, Phil X, for a very fun, very long interview. Unfortunately, Continue reading

Nerd Party For the Mother Effing Win!

2 Oct

So… a wee bit ago, we at NerdLush celebrated six months of nerdery with a costumed karaoke party with friends and fans. I admit to being a wee bit nervous before the event… I mean, this is LA! People RSVP for things here all the time (and then don’t show up!) (or the opposite-show up without an RSVP). And up til the actual party night- after arriving at the venue- there was that little whisper saying I should be ready with “It’s my party, I’ll cry if I want to”… but then… everyone (plus more awesome people) showed up. And sang. And had costumes. And laughed. And had fun. And it was AWESOME.

The only thing that made me sad is that Stewart wasn’t able to be there with us. 😦 Continue reading

Old Adventures… Salute to Supernatural 2007

6 Sep

While living in Chicago for a short time, I didn’t get out and do as many nerdy things as I’d liked- I’ve actually done more nerdy things in Chicago since I moved back to California! But one of the things I did do was head out to the Creation Con Supernatural event in 2007. At the time, I’d never seen Supernatural (I was working on my masters, had only public TV, and was very sheltered due to being a California kid living in a city that actually had WEATHER!) so I opted to go to the con for two reasons- two guests that I adored and a few friends from around the state were heading in for it. However, I came out of the weekend with a love for Jared and Jensen (damn them for being awesome) and a need to watch the show. Continue reading

Post of EPICNESS… or how I spent my SDCC 2012 vacation

18 Jul

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what to write for Action Chick’s site in regards to SDCC 2012 because I was there as a representative of sorts for her site. Unfortunately, within hours of heading south, every interview we had scheduled ended up not being a GO. This was fine- it opened up my schedule immensely! But on the other hand… it would’ve been a lot easier to write up some interviews and feel like I earned my keep than to try to write up TWO experience posts. I mean- I had  to write something for my own site, right?

I’ve already thanked Stewart, but once more won’t hurt- Thanks. 🙂 He did a great job of collecting the key points and putting them together in daily posts. Heck! I was onsite and he had some info that I didn’t know. As I’d mentioned before I made the pilgrimage, I wasn’t sure what the internet situation would be during the week- so it was nice to know that someone was minding the site. 🙂 Continue reading

If You Heard My MP3 Player… You’d Think Me Strange

22 Jun

I do not like most conventional music. I’ve mentioned before that I don’t listen to the radio (my new car has XM Satelite radio and I’ve got it set to oldies stations- Hair Nation is my fav)… which makes it a little weird when people ask my opinion about music. I can’t tell you bubkiss about who is popular now. Or even ten years ago. I’m absolutely horrible with bands… unless I adore them. And for me to adore you, as a musician or band, you have to be awesome. And generally… that means you are indie.  Continue reading

FanGirl Squee… Call me converted

14 Jun

I am going to get a lot of flack for this post. Go ahead. I’m ready.

So… recently I had the opportunity to spend a wonderful day with my best friend, her kids, and also catch an upcoming film. There were many exciting bonuses to this day as my best friend and I live nearly 100 miles apart and since she has a husband and 4 kids, and I have fulltime school, we don’t get to spend a lot of time together. Add to that the fact that as a capper on our day we got to take her girls to see their first movie screening! (Obviously not their first movie- they are 14, 12, and 11- but their first time seeing a movie before it opens) Heck, we even got to participate in the focus group after the movie!

But none of that explains my status as a convert. Continue reading
