Stewart here…
Unlike our beloved NerdLush head honcho, I have not really discussed with you all my thoughts on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. So let me start off my saying that BvS is not the worst movie ever made (maybe the worst comic book movie of 2016, but that’s only SO FAR…), BUT there’s way too many pacing and story issues that don’t make it good. It’s like shoving 15 pounds of stuff into a 5 pound bag and realizing some important material fell out during the bag filling. So when I heard of a longer version coming to Blu-ray, I was guardedly excited. Continue reading
Stewart here, and be ready for spoilers on the horizon…
The fall season of TV starts once again, and Monday and Tuesday brought several nerd-related shows back on the air, along with a possible new addition to the ranks. Well, if to start easing myself into another season of minicaps for Arrow (and that’s still two weeks away), let’s talk about these NerdLush favorites, starting with the new kid in town. Have you ever watched a movie/TV show and flipped out because you are so used to seeing that actor as another character? For instance, Princess Diaries 2 pits Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) against Smallville‘s Major Zod (Callum Blue) for the hand of Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). It’s just weird.
I saw a meme a few months ago that hits home with this idea- Continue reading
Did you know Batman is almost 75 years old?
Did you know there’s a whole day dedicated to him?
Did you know DC are releasing a special comic just for this day?
Did you know there’s a raffle with HUGE prizes to be won, all to raise money for a Children’s Hospital?
Did you know the day all this happens in 23rd July?
Well you do now. Continue reading
Well, I know you do. And that means that I’m going to use today’s post to bring something to your attention.
Well, actually, not me- my friend Travis Langley is. You may know Dr. Langley from twitter as Superherologist, or from his book “Batman and Psychology: A Dark and Stormy Knight”. I know him from both, but also as a forensic psychologist (which is my field, as well) and someone I deeply respect.
Recently, Dr. Langley has been pushing for recognition for the silent creator of the Batman. What? You didn’t know Bob Kane had help? Well, you aren’t alone!
To help get the word out about Bill Finger and his role- especially as this year would be Finger’s 100th birthday- Dr. Langley and a few others in the know are working on a kickstarter to create a documentary.
I could say more, but honestly the kickstarter page says it so much better than I could. Please go, check out the campaign, consider contributing, and at the very least share the page with others! Help get the word out!
