This short season has been one long goodbye for Oliver Queen, as he’s said goodbye to friends and family, all while preparing for the Crisis that would threaten the entire multiverse. Well, the Crisis has come and passed, and Ollie is dead, having created a new universe for all his loved ones that is slightly different than the one his extended family remembers. Welcome back from the holiday break, and welcome back to the second half of our recaps of Crisis on Infinite Earths! Before we close off this big crossover event, let’s just remind ourselves what happened last time, because it’s quite a bit. The Monitor assembles a team of heroes to combat the universe(s) destroying threat of the Anti-Monitor, and it goes…not so well. Oliver Queen gets killed off early, but may serve a bigger purpose in the fight yet to come, as something else. And as worlds are destroyed, our heroes fight to save the multiverse. Unfortunately for them, the last of their Earths are wiped away, and our core group of heroes find themselves whisked away to the Vanishing Point, a space outside of the universe where they are safe. That core group being: The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, White Canary, scientist Ryan Choi, Martian Manhunter, and…Lex Luthor? Just how do these seven even succeed at restoring EVERYTHING they’ve lost? DC Recap Round-Up 3, SPECIAL EDITION: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (PART 1)

Welcome to the first of our special Recap Round-Ups on Crisis on Infinite Earths! There’s gonna be a lot of ground to cover, lots of team ups, lots of cameos, lots of surprises, and lots of deaths to cover for this one (making up the first three parts of this epic crossover), so let’s just get the basics out of the way. For the last year or so, we’ve had appearances by an alien being known as The Monitor, warning our heroes of a threat so immense it could destroy all of the multiverse! And now, things have lined up where that threat has come.
In the build-up, the Monitor recruited Oliver Queen and his friends (even bringing his grown children, Mia and William, from the future into the present) to prepare for the eventual multidimensional fight. Barry Allen has been living with the spectre of knowing The Flash will die because of this Crisis, and been preparing for that eventuality. And now, one of the Harrison Wells of the multiverse, Nash, may have just released said threat from its prison by accident! So, now the Crisis has begun! Continue reading

We’re at the halfway point of this final season, and we’ve had plenty of shocks and big events, but probably no event more shocking than our current Team Arrow meeting their hero children from 2040! How and why they are there is still a big mystery (bet The Monitor on this one), but while they are there, this gives Ollie and Diggle an opportunity to see the future through their children, adopted or otherwise. But while Ollie tries to figure out how to fight The Monitor if it turns out he isn’t the good guy he might be, we know The Monitor has agents in Team Arrow’s midst, like Lyla, and maybe another one, if he recruits Evil Laurel into the fold with the promise of bringing back Earth-2! But none of that matters because, shockingly our Future Team Arrow of Mia, William, and Connor find themselves transported to now in the Arrow Bunker, literally in front of their dads, Ollie and Diggle, respectively! Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left things, Ollie performed another task for The Monitor, but eventually got to realizing he knows nothing about the being sending him on these tasks. So, he’s going to find an organization with enough ancient ties to put together who The Monitor is, and that is visiting Nanda Parbat, the home of the destroyed League of Assassins! What he doesn’t know is that he’s not the only agent working for The Monitor’s goals, and that one is a very close ally: Diggle’s wife, Lyla! In the future, JJ, Diggle’s son, has put his Deathstroke gang onto a mission to kill the group trying to bring Star City and the Glades back together, and William is on that list!
