ARROW Season 7×16, “Star City 2040” recap

20 Mar

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Putting everything in the present on the back burner this episode, let’s discuss the flashforwards into 2040 so far: grown up William finds a message from Felicity, and through that gets a band of heroes to help find her, mainly Dinah, Roy Harper, and Rene’s grown up daughter Zoe. Eventually he gets the help of Diggle’s adopted kid, Connor Hawke, and…Mia Smoak? Yeah, well Felicity and Ollie had a kid ( or have a kid in the present, you know what I mean) and that kid grows up to be a bit angry. But how did that happen? Can they find Felicity? And what about that plan to destroy Star City? Is Rene, now Mayor of the now thriving Glades, on the side of the bad guys? More on that below… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×15, “Training Day” recap

14 Mar

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Last we left Team Arrow, they are still working under the SCPD, but have been also pursuing a heavily connected super criminal only known as Dante. While they have finally seen the elusive criminal up close, he escaped, and then we learn how close he is to hitting the team when we see Emiko knows him! Add to that, Dante’s contact, Ricardo Diaz, got torched in his cell by an unknown assailant, but considering Diaz helped ARGUS track Dante, it’s hard not to put together who’s behind that human barbecuing. On another end, Ollie has finally learned Felicity is pregnant, which is great news as he’s a legit crime fighter now, right? You would think that… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×14, “Brothers & Sisters” recap

6 Mar

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Just to catch you up on things before our brief hiatus, let’s start with some big developments for Team Arrow itself. Diggle and Lyla have restarted the Suicide, ahem, Ghost Initiative to find the super criminal Dante, and among that “volunteered by explosives in the skull” group is Ricardo Diaz, which can only be problematic. Curtis is leaving for greener pastures and Dinah is getting hospitalized for that throat slashing she took, which is only the tip of crazy developments. William got sent to live with his grandparents in the effort to help him grow up slightly normal, which is an awkwardly timed step for the Queen family, because Felicity learns at the same time that she’s pregnant! This has its own repercussions in the future story playing out, because we learn Blackstar is Mia Smoak, Ollie and Felicity’s daughter! Oh, and Emiko is still looking for her mom’s killer. That’s about it. I think. Let’s just get to it… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×13, “Star City Slayer” recap

13 Feb

Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left our heroes, the Team got officially deputized as cops, which solves a lot of that pesky anti-vigilante stuff, right? Well we still got issues to deal with, like William being all sulky after coming home from boarding school, which we discover he got expelled from. And we also have someone stalking our heroes, leaving them threatening notes, but nothing truly horrifying happening…yet. In the future, Mia (the woman also known as “Blackstar”) takes a friend, Connor Hawke (also known as John Diggle’s son) to find the old Arrow Bunker for some reason. Now that we got that catch-up out the way, let’s get to the recap proper… Continue reading

Heroes and Villains invaded San Jose for another year of adventuring!

10 Dec

For our 3rd year, we ventured over the hill from the Central Valley to hang out with some heroes and villains, and zombies too!, in San Jose. This was sort of a last minute venture due to availability issues with minions, but in the end we made plans and set out to see what there was to see.

As I write up the event and my thoughts, I am starting to think there should be classes on convention etiquette because there were several moments that were frustrating. However, there were also a lot of really good things. Did it balance out? I’m not sure… let’s talk about some of the highlights and issues and see. Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×06, “Due Process” recap

23 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left Oliver Queen, he got moved back to the main population of Slabside Prison after helping expose all that prisoner abuse on Level Two. Felicity and gang are still trying to capture Diaz, but he is busy in Moscow meeting his old buddy who betrayed him: Anatoly! And in those flashforwards, William and Old Roy run into Old Dinah and grown up Zoe in Star City, and learn that Felicity Smoak is probably dead. We got questions, this recap has…some answers… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×05, “The Demon” recap

16 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Last time, Oliver Queen got himself transferred to Level Two of Slabside to find “The Demon”, who may know something on Ricardo Diaz. Instead, he got some serious head shrinkage from the doctor running the place, Parker, which can only be bad, right? Meanwhile, Felicity and Evil Laurel have managed to put a tracer on The Silencer, in the hope she will lead them to Diaz. Also, Diggle and Curtis are becoming aware of some shady stuff going on at ARGUS, behind Lyla’s back, no less. No flashforwards to cover right now, so with that, let’s get to the recap… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×04, “Level Two” recap

8 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left our heroes, Oliver Queen was still in prison, but interested in the meeting Diaz’s connection inside, the mysterious “The Demon”. But “The Demon” is in a far more secure level for violent inmates, so Ollie arranges a trip there by wounding a few crooked guards. Meantime, as we still have that mystery Green Arrow running around, Felicity has a lead on Diaz shackled up, in one of his hired help, The Silencer. And in our flashforwards, Older Roy and Older William discover that they have to solve the mystery Felicity has left for them by going back home to Star City! Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×03, “Crossing Lines” recap

31 Oct

Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left Oliver Queen, he had fulfilled (more or less) an arrangement with Brick to get in touch with whoever brought in those goons to rough him up in Slabside. Meantime, we met the Longbow Hunters, three mercenaries who proved to be very formidable against Diggle and ARGUS, but not enough to have the plans of Diaz, their boss, thwarted. Felicity is getting a little tired of having to look behind her shoulder now that Diaz openly attacked her, so she goes to the one person who might be able to help: FBI agent Samanda Watson. Oh, and we won’t be discussing and flashforwards this episode because there wasn’t any. Anyhoo, let’s just get into it… Continue reading

ARROW Season 7×02, “The Longbow Hunters” Recap

23 Oct

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Last time we left Prisoner 4587: Oliver Queen, he had been trying to keep low and do his time in Slabside Prison. But leave it to an attack on him and Felicity by Ricardo Diaz to put him back into a more proactive position. As for the rest of Team Arrow, they are adjusting to life not crimefighting in masks, and discovering that there’s someone else wearing the hood of the Green Arrow in town! Well, I’ll save you some time and tell you we don’t get an answer to who it is this episode, but as to how our heroes will deal with the returning Diaz? Read on, then… Continue reading
