ARROW Season 1 rewatch, Ep. 8, “Vendetta” / Ep. 9, “Year’s End”

15 Sep

Welcome back to the rewatch, Arrowheads! When last we left Oliver, he found a kindred spirit in Helena Bertinelli, the daughter of a mob boss. She’s on her own personal mission of revenge against her father for the death of a loved one, and Ollie finds that really attractive in a woman. You can guess what happens next, but probably not, because what happens next is next… Continue reading

Welcome back to the rewatch, Arrowheads!  Ollie is busy on his big mission to deal with the big criminals in Starling City, little aware that his list of baddies is connected to a big conspiracy that involves his mother.  Oh, and that her new hubby Walter has pieced together something about that, he’s taking off indefinitely.  So let’s just jump into things… Continue reading

Welcome back to the rewatch, Arrowheads!  When we last left Oliver Queen, he was stopping another bad guy in assassin Deadshot, and in the middle of this, Diggle got injured.  So Ollie took him back to heal him at his lair, and was there waiting for him as he woke up to see his client is not quite the damaged rich boy he thought he was.  So now what is he going to do? Continue reading

ARROW Season 1 rewatch, Ep. 1: “Pilot”

1 Jun

Welcome, Arrowheads!  As many longtime NerdLush readers are aware, I started recapping Arrow here around season two, but for a while now, have wanted to go back and recap the first season.  With season five now over (and a significant part of Oliver Queen’s story ended), it seemed like the best time to go back and revisit Arrow season one.   Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×08, “Invasion!” recap

1 Dec

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  So let’s just put away all the drama of Prometheus and Vigilante and all that for this week, and let’s talk about what happened to most of Team Arrow in The Flash literally yesterday.  First off, Earth is being invaded by not so pleasant aliens known as the Dominators, and just about every hero related to The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.  Heck, we get a legitimate Supergirl to join the festivities!  As our team was just getting to the assembling part, Ollie, Thea, Diggle, Sara, and Ray are beamed away by the aliens to…well, where did they go? Continue reading

Gather forth your Heroes, your villains, and all the wine!

2 Sep

Ventured towards California’s coast over the weekend to attend the 2nd Heroes and Villains Fan Fest (HVFF) in San Jose. This is a convention that has been growing steadily since its first event a year and a half/two years ago. It was a good weekend- not perfect- and something we’d love to check out again.

Join us for a drink… OTP – Olicity, Arrow, and More!

5 May

OTP – or One True Pairing – is a fandom term used to denote pairings fans believe are the best couples. This occurs throughout fandom mediums – television shows, books, movies…even “real life people”. In most fandoms, there are fanfics that are written by the fans in order to tell a story, the way they see fit. To be honest, some of the fics are quite well-written with compelling stories. Others… not so much (off-topic, but recently there was an announcement of a “One Direction” fanfic that was being published… excerpts of the book were released as well… it was painful drivel). But these fics also allow for fans to have their OTP as they see fit… something that may go against what the writers of a show or the author of a book series may want (for now anyway).    Continue reading
