ARROW Season 6×06, “Promises Kept” recap

17 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads! When last we left everybody, things were getting dicey in Team Arrow. Diggle was hiding his nerve injury from his teammates, which I’m sure is less disturbing than the fact he’s been taking some kind of drug to quell that injury. Ollie has found himself on a mission to help Slade recover Slade’s son, Joe, from a Kasnian prison and the eyes of a deadly mercenary group called The Jackals. What neither Slade world Ollie counted on was that Joe was the Jackals’ leader! Family reunions get so awkward, don’t they? Continue reading

ARROW Season 6×05, “Deathstroke Returns” recap

11 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads! With Ollie taking time to be a dad and Diggle now taking over the Green Arrow mantle, it’s time to focus on some other characters we haven’t been seeing for a while. For instance, Slade Wilson, who last we saw him going to find his estranged son, Joe, who he hasn’t seen since before his fateful first trip to the island of Lian Yu. And someone like Vigilante, who we haven’t seen since he took a header off a parking garage by Prometheus’ hand last season. So, let’s catch up on those two…BUT first… Continue reading

ARROW Season 6×01, “Fallout” recap

14 Oct

AND welcome back, Arrowheads! Last season saw a lot of drama happen, as Oliver Queen became the new mayor of Star City. I mean, there was drama regarding budget plans, gun control, how to revitalize the city, and…what else? Oh yeah, a maniac called Prometheus, hiding in Ollie’s own midst as District Attorney Adrian Chase, was waging a physical and psychological vendetta against Ollie and Team Arrow. This lead to a big showdown between Team Arrow and Prometheus on the island of Lian Yu, and Ollie saving his son. Of course, this doesn’t save the Team, his friends, and his baby momma as Prometheus kills himself, setting off hundreds of bombs on the island’s surface! So who survived this mess? Read on…

ARROW Season 5×23, “Lian Yu” recap

25 May

Welcome back, Arrowheads! It’s season finale time, and last time we were all here, we got quite a setup.  Ollie was put in the unenviable position to free our season’s big bad, Adrian Chase, when Adrian’s associates kidnapped all of Team Arrow, even his hidden son!  Discovering Adrian had made his way to Lian Yu to setup some final confrontation between the two, Ollie knew he had to get some help, and enlisted Malcolm Merlyn and Nyssa al Ghul.  But once they all got to the island, he still had to get one more hand to help him in this fight: the imprisoned Deathstroke/Slade Wilson!  How will this wobbly team-up going to fare against all those bad guys?  Well, before we get to the shocking result, let’s check in on another ticking clock… Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×22, “Missing” recap

18 May

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  We’re on the tail end of the season, and it seems we are going out on a good note.  The big bad of the season, Adrian Chase, has been captured and imprisoned, which I’m sure is a relief to everyone in Team Arrow.  So I guess there’s no big city ending threat this season and the next two episodes is gonna be the gang just kicking back and enjoying some quiet time catching up with their favorite books or TV shows.

Yeah, I didn’t think that either, especially after seeing that grin on Adrian in his jail cell.  So let’s see what’s in store now for the Team…in a minute… Continue reading

Wizard World Sacramento

24 Jun

The downside of hitting a convention for only one day is that the day is spent rushing around trying to see as much as possible while still enjoying it. The upside? You went to a convention- any time spent at one is a good time.

I got a last minute-ish invite to join a panel at Wizard World Sacramento and as it is only a hop and three skips north of the NerdLush HQ, I accepted. But as it is so close, it made as much sense to opt for a day trip as it did to go for the whole weekend (especially with several other things coming up quick). So Saturday morning, I hopped in Tardis Jr and ventured to nerd fun. Continue reading

ARROW Season 2 review

27 May

arrow-00002

Welcome back, Arrow-heads! Covering this recent season of Arrow, I thought it would fun to go back and review the season as a whole.  To make it easier, I thought I’d follow the formula with the look back on season one, and point out the good and bad of season two.  So, let’s start with the good: Continue reading

ARROW Season 2×23, “Unthinkable” recap

15 May

arrow-00002

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  Well, here’s what we need to remember before we get to this last episode of the season: Starling City’s under siege by Slade’s supermen, Sebastian Blood’s dead, Ollie has the Mirakuru cure, and none of this may matter if Amanda Waller’s drone strike on the city happens in a few hours! Continue reading

ARROW Season 2×22, “Streets of Fire” recap

7 May

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  So the proverbial crap has hit the proverbial fan.  Ollie’s in a bit of a funk after Moira’s death, but gets put right by Team Arrow and…Laurel?  Yeah, she gives him enough motivation to get back to the hood wearing to take down Sebastian Blood and that Mirakuru-army of his.  And then Team Arrow gets sidetracked in a few ways: Ollie and Laurel being trapped in the tunnels below Starling City; Felicity getting a call from STAR Labs about that Mirakuru cure; and Diggle facing off against a really ticked off Isabel.  And things get worse with Blood’s army laying siege to places like Quentin’s precinct house and the train station where Thea is, while the army makes its way into town.  Ruh-Roh! Continue reading

ARROW Season 2×20, “Seeing Red” recap

23 Apr

arrow-00002

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  What we need to know so far is Moira’s still running for mayor, Thea’s still angry with Moira and Ollie lying to her about…pretty much everything, and Roy’s still comatose.  On the plus side, Felicity is getting some help from STAR Labs to make a cure and Isabel is dead (at least as far as Team Arrow knows), so things are looking up, right?  Well, this episode reminds us: nope, it’s going to get worse. Continue reading
