For years I’ve lived in a bit of a bubble- some of it by choice, most of it due to necessity. I don’t get out to movies often (those things are frickin’ expensive!). I don’t listen to the radio because everything sounds the same (my recent addiction to the broadway channel on my xm is different)(see my post on my eclectic mp3 collection). And I don’t get into too many new shows. I don’t have TV, cable or otherwise, and haven’t gotten decent reception for years… I live on DVDs and what can be found on the internet. So it kills me when people go crazy for a new show. Especially when that show doesn’t magically appear on Hulu etc to give me a chance to watch it too. Continue reading

I hate your guts, Bill Compton!
11 DecAh, True Blood.
See, sometimes I’m told for homework purposes for my gypsy-esque job that I have to watch a movie or a television series. Tough life, right? Well sometimes. See, I’ve never been one for the whole vampire-saga romance bullhonkey that seems to have everybody’s panties in a wad. It’s just not for me. I’m more of a Breaking Bad and Homeland kind of girl. But yet…. here I am. Having to marathon through every single episode. So here’s been my answer to a lot of inquiries I’ve had recently, along with my answers: Continue reading

When worlds collide…
27 NovAs I was sitting at my moms this past weekend, watching the NCIS marathon on USA (as one would…), I was occasionally flipping over to Twitter to get the latest info (it’s better than wasting time trying to get info from online news sites) and discovered that Wil Wheaton was spending the afternoon cleaning out or going through old boxes in his garage. Continue reading

Great Trek Debate, chapter 3- Those Dastardly Villains
15 NovNot too long ago I launched a poll to see who you felt was the greatest foe in the Star Trek universe. The poll is still open, but as of now the results are pretty weighted in favor of the Borg. For this chapter of the look into Star Trek, I want to take a gander at some of the villains our heroes have gone up against. Let’s start with those pesky with poll results- Continue reading
Television Graveyard- plot 2, MR & MRS SMITH
13 NovLet’s take a stroll through those television series which ended prematurely- those that didn’t quite make the cut or get the chance to really give it a go. Some of my favorites rarely get the chance to get past the first few episodes- thank goodness for DVD! This weeks series ended too soon; it had barely found it’s feet before it’s time had come. However, it did get wrapped up nicely which is super rare for shows that get canned before their time. I’m talking about Mr & Mrs Smith.
