Welcome back, Arrow-heads! How was your summer? Well, good news is if you lamented not being able to catch up on last season, well, Netflix has that up, so go ahead and do that. I’ll wait. Now, if you’re back, there’s not much to say except: Ollie defeated Slade, Thea has run off with Malcolm Merlyn, Quentin had a serious health problem, and Team Arrow is off to fight crime in Starling City while trying to rebuild. Also in the flashbacks, Ollie has finally gotten off the island, only to end up in Hong Kong with Amanda Waller. There’s more I should tell you about, but hey, let’s leap in…
Who are YOU really?
16 JulHave you ever watched a movie/TV show and flipped out because you are so used to seeing that actor as another character? For instance, Princess Diaries 2 pits Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) against Smallville‘s Major Zod (Callum Blue) for the hand of Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). It’s just weird.
I saw a meme a few months ago that hits home with this idea- Continue reading
2014 Emmy Nomination’s… do you agree?
10 JulThis morning, the nominations for the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced. Admittedly, I have been very limited in watch I watch due to time and accessibility, but… I have to admit that I think they missed quite a few worthy nominations. Even if they didn’t win, there are still episodes and performances that should have been given the recognition of the nomination. Continue reading
Bring on Fall TV!
8 JulHiatus is over for some of our favorite tv stars/shows as table reads began yesterday and this week begins the actual filming of the first episodes of the season. And with that, the most recent round of casting announcements happen.
Light & Dark… Black & White… Good & Bad… who would you rather be?
20 JunLast year I wanted to learn more about creating “crazy” characters and utilized social media to reach out to actors, writers, and creators in order to learn the different perspectives. As a mental health professional, I have found that I lose a bit when I watch something as I tend to sit and observe the characters- looking to diagnose, to see their flaws, to learn who they are, etc. Usually I can turn it off and focus on the story but sometimes it is harder than others. Especially after a long day with clients.
Guilty Pleasures- MTV’s Teen Wolf
2 JunFor some time, my young friend Marina (who I have known since she was knee high to a grasshopper) has been recommending that I watch MTV’s Teen Wolf (at this point I should note that the rec actually comes from her mom, who recc’ed it to her, but that’s not the point). I always said I’d get around to it… eventually.
Well, now that I have free time and my fav shows are on hiatus, I finally have the time to watch those genre shows I’ve been putting off… And Amazon Prime having the complete series (so far) streaming for free was a pretty good push to put Teen Wolf towards the top of my list.
And what can I say- I am not above enjoying a show that has pretty guys running around shirtless (especially since this happens much more often than the girls showing skin- props to MTV).
I stayed up too late the other night to finish my marathon and am now super sad that I have to wait for the next season! Which, by the way, starts on June 23rd.
Oh, and um… SPOILERS ahead. Continue reading
Television Graveyard- plot 8, The Gates
19 MayOne of the great things about the end of the “normal” TV season is that it gives a chance to sit back and enjoy, via Hulu or Netflix, a show that ended years ago or that you may have missed. In my case, I have been enjoying a short lived supernatural series from 2010- The Gates.
