If you don’t know, several weeks ago Fox announced the new line-up for the Fantastic Four reboot and it got people talking. A lot. Not in the same way people talked about Ben Affleck being cast as the next Bruce Wayne/Batman, this had nothing to do with the actors credentials, it was because the actor in question is black. A very popular panel at WonderCon 2014 centered on the subject of Psychology of Cult TV shows. A full room including a standing back row watched as a panel of psychology experts discussed the rich subject matter that made up this topic in both its fictional context and its potential real-world impact. The panel included Dr. Janina Scarlet (The Superhero Manual), Josué Cardona (Geek Therapy), Dr. Travis Langley (Batman and Psychology: A Dark and Stormy Knight), and NerdLush Diva herself Elizabeth Ann.

25 AprDue to a double post day on Wednesday, there’s nothing ready to run today. I know… bad form. I could let it go and just skip the day, but I would prefer to run something. Personally, I’m working on my next piece looking at the psychology of characters, but it won’t be ready for a bit. And there’s a guest piece in the works on my recent panel at WonderCon (along with video of the panel), but again… not ready to run today. Here is a link to The Mary Sue review of the panel, in case you haven’t seen it. I’m kind of excited to be mentioned in The Mary Sue.

Anyways… I think there is also a post about a sweet little kickstarter that may be running soon, but we’re waiting on the info about the project from the creators. Possibly some other guest posts, too. Along with the usual- Smallville recaps, Arrow write-ups, and other semi-regular posts around here. But today… I’ve got nothing. Continue reading
ARROW Season 2×20, “Seeing Red” recap
23 AprWelcome back, Arrow-heads! What we need to know so far is Moira’s still running for mayor, Thea’s still angry with Moira and Ollie lying to her about…pretty much everything, and Roy’s still comatose. On the plus side, Felicity is getting some help from STAR Labs to make a cure and Isabel is dead (at least as far as Team Arrow knows), so things are looking up, right? Well, this episode reminds us: nope, it’s going to get worse. Continue reading

SMALLVILLE Minicaps / Season 7, Eps. 9-12
19 Apr
The Smallville season 7 minicaps could go a while without hearing Jor-El warn it about “consequences”, thank you.
Stewart here…
Clark had to deal with family trouble last time as mean zenophobic uncle Zor-El is replicated and almost lays waste to Earth. Zor-El’s destroyed, but not before Kara is dumped in Detroit somehow with no memory and Jor-El tells Clark there will be consequences for his actions bringing Zor-El and his mom, Lara, back briefly. Meanwhile, Lois is starting a relationship with Daily Planet editor Grant Gabriel, who is also known to Lex as his supposedly dead brother Julian Luthor! The Luthors have their own trouble, thanks to Lana trying to destroy Lex behind Clark and Chloe’s back. But wait, what happened to Clark after that flash of light and warning from Jor-El? Continue reading
ARROW Season 2×19, “The Man Under The Hood” recap
17 AprWelcome back, Arrow-heads! Slade’s been upping his campaign on Ollie big time, by laying some truth bombs on people. He’s told Thea about her real dad, and Laurel about who the Arrow really is. Besides that, he’s shanghaied a bus full of prisoners for part of his master plan. And also, since Ollie was busy trying to recover Thea, he gave over temporary control of the family company to Isabel, who immediately seized control and revealed herself to be one of Slade’s conspirators! Plus, Quentin’s in prison, Thea wants nothing to do with her family, and Roy has skipped town. So, now what? Continue reading
