The bulk of the NerdLush crew bought into the series from the first episode- even with the ups and downs. And we’re pretty excited to see where the series goes after that season finale… Continue reading

It’s a busy week around here, but we want to take a moment to share about a new web series. Well, the creators have a new series to share and we’ve got the low-down… straight from the boss’ mouths!

Ghost in the Machine… glitches overrun- is it Skynet?

14 Sep

The other day I spent 2 hours on hold with Best Buy because their system decided that the two items I had pre-ordered needed to be shipped separately to different addresses. Excuse me? It took the nice lady 2 minutes to fix the issue.

She said it was a glitch in their updated system.  Continue reading

Awkward! Don’t forget the importance of music!

12 Sep

Have you ever watched the deleted scenes on a DVD and scene your favorite characters having a conversation in a dance club? Awkward! It’s nothing but the dialogue fighting to be heard over the shuffling feet of extras pretending to look sexy while dancing with no music.

It should be pointed out that there is an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer were there is no background music- when Joyce dies- but it’s still gone through post production and had those awkward none relevant sounds removed so as not to pull focus from the rest of the emotionally driven episode. The much anticipated season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts this fall, and we fans are beyond excited! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is written and produced by Joss Whedon (Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The show was met initially with criticism, perhaps due to sky-high expectations from Marvel die-hards.

I personally enjoy Whedon’s sort of dorky, campy humor. Whedon was the producer of the cult classic (and one of my favorite shows) “Firefly” which was tragically canceled after only one season. Firefly fans are probably better equipped to enjoy the pace and tone of AoS than strict devotees to The Avengers franchise.

Despite initial criticism, AoS has pushed on, and delivered an excellent end to Season One. They won over many of their prior naysayers, and shocked loyal viewers with new plots of intrigue, danger, mystery and unexpected betrayal. They left fans with a lot of questions. Here are my top 5: Continue reading

Pondering a cosplay question- does not compute

17 Aug

I started a training this week for the job I am doing for the next year. One of the topics related to proper dress attire- should be common sense stuff, right? Especially since I am working at a prison. But apparently my institution is fairly lax and there are a lot of questionable things that have been worn inside…

The basic thing is don’t wear the same color as the inmates. And, ladies, remember that men are looking at you as though you are a piece of meat. And they are starving.

Pretty simple, right?

But it got me thinking about cosplay again- something that’s been happening a lot since I started this site. Continue reading
