DC TV Recap Round-up Issue 1: “Have You Seen This _____?”

4 Feb

Stewart here…

Welcome to the first official installment of the DC TV Recap Round-up!  If you read last week’s winter break recap, we are back to regularly scheduled programming.  Obviously Arrow is covered in greater detail on this site, but we’ll briefly discuss that before jumping into returning favorites like The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.  So…  Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×11, “Second Chances” recap

2 Feb

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  The Team had a surprise last time when the dead Laurel Lance came to see them, only to be revealed as the evil Laurel from Earth-2, sprung on them by Prometheus.  This encounter makes Ollie determined to make good on his promise to find someone to take the Black Canary mantle.  In other developments, Diggle is still stuck in prison, and thanks to some quick thinking on DA Adrian’s part, isn’t shipped off to some clearly uncertain end.  But what we should get to is the flashbacks, because Ollie is saved by Talia al Ghul!  Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×10, “Who Are You?” recap

26 Jan

Welcome back from Winter hiatus, Arrowheads!  When we left Team Arrow last year, things were not so rosy for them.  Quentin went into rehab, Curtis is estranged from his hubby, Evelyn turned on them to side with Prometheus, Diggle got busted by the military, and Prometheus tricked Ollie into killing Felicity’s cop boyfriend!  As if things couldn’t get worse, a familiar face appears in the Arrow HQ: Laurel Lance!  The DEAD Laurel Lance!  What is going on there?  Let’s hold on that for a second and focus on another big reveal that happens this episode… Continue reading

DC TV Recap Round-up Premiere!

23 Jan

Stewart here…

As I do recaps of Arrow here (and still will be despite this recap round-up), I also find myself lacking little to no time to cover some of the other DC related shows on TV right now.  Instead of trying to cover each individually and in depth, leading to delays (you know, like those missing posts on Legends of Tomorrow I have failed to turn in…), I thought it might be a easy and inventive solution to try some quick weekly recaps of shows like Legends, as well as some other shows I don’t cover for NerdLush, like The Flash and Supergirl.  I might do some other DC shows in the downtime, but for now, lets stick to The CW’s crop.  First up: Continue reading

My thoughts on ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY!

5 Jan

Stewart here…

Some heavy SPOILERS within…

As I had NO TIME this holiday season to do it, I now have finally watched the first of the Star Wars spinoff movies, ROGUE ONE.  My early thoughts are that I enjoyed seeing a different look into the Star Wars universe that had nothing to do with the Skywalker clan (well, except for one significant appearance and one fleeting one), and for the most part, I thought it was a solid movie.  I’m not sure about it being all that kid-friendly (which we will discuss why further), but I legit enjoyed ROGUE ONE, even though I think there are one or two brief bits of fan service that seemed really unnecessary.  But, how about we skip the long write-up, and break down the good and bad of this movie point by point? Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×09, “What We Leave Behind” recap

8 Dec

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  Team Arrow 2.0 is about to start the holidays with a big ass lump of coal in their Christmas stocking, being they got a traitor in their ranks.  That traitor is Evelyn/Artemis, who either is still upset her parents died incidentally because of Team Arrow last season or that she’s learned Ollie murked a lot of guys over the years, but who can say.  Millennials, am I right?  She’s helping Prometheus get all kinds of dirt on her teammates, which can’t be good news for anyone.  But who is Prometheus?  And what does he have planned to give our heroes for this Winter break? Continue reading

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2×07, “Invasion!” recap

2 Dec

Welcome back!  In case you haven’t been following The Flash and Arrow this week, we have reached the end of a massive DCTV crossover as all our heroes face aliens known as the Dominators.  Things have been dicey since the new super team has had to contend with mind controlled allies, and some of their non-metahuman players (like most of Team Arrow) being abducted.  But as Ollie and company have escaped the clutches of the Dominators with the help of the Waverider, we learn we got bigger problems.  Those problems being some Dominator superweapon is almost complete and they are making their way to Earth!  For our heroes on this show, one big reveal is thanks to Stein’s talk to his past self, he now has a daughter!  Can our heroes stop the aliens?  Well, yes, obviously, but let’s see how. Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×08, “Invasion!” recap

1 Dec

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  So let’s just put away all the drama of Prometheus and Vigilante and all that for this week, and let’s talk about what happened to most of Team Arrow in The Flash literally yesterday.  First off, Earth is being invaded by not so pleasant aliens known as the Dominators, and just about every hero related to The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.  Heck, we get a legitimate Supergirl to join the festivities!  As our team was just getting to the assembling part, Ollie, Thea, Diggle, Sara, and Ray are beamed away by the aliens to…well, where did they go? Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×07, “Vigilante” recap

17 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  Team Arrow 2.0 has had its share of growing pains this season, but as bad as that has been, new villain Prometheus has really been keeping them off guard.  Ollie has been getting a bit more personal with reporter Susan Williams (who is totally investigating Ollie’s “stranded” years), Diggle is still a wanted man, and Quentin is blackout drinking and waking up with some of Prometheus’ throwing stars.  So what could make things worse in Star City and for Team Arrow 2.0? Continue reading
