So, welcome to the recap of the first episode of Legends of Tomorrow! What do you need to know? Um, well if you’ve been watching Arrow and The Flash regularly, chances are you noticed this season the attention on several characters not necessarily part of the core groups of both shows. Really, I could explain it all, but we still got a lot of story here to cover, so let’s jump into it, okay? Continue reading
Supergirl: do you believe a girl can fly?
21 NovThis is not a review. There haven’t been enough episodes to truly review this series yet. This is, instead, me working out whether or not Supergirl is worth my time.
Television Graveyard- plot 13, Birds of Prey
7 Aug
Towards the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the WB* attempted to keep the Girl Power strong with their network by bringing in some DC characters. After all, the WB was riding high on Smallville‘s success. They still had Charmed, but they seemed to want some ladies who kicked ass, without the cartoony silliness the Halliwell sisters sometimes got into- I don’t mock, still love Charmed!
*yes, I know that Buffy was on UPN for it’s last two years, but we all know the WB still thought of it as their baby.
What they got was thirteen episodes of what could’ve been awesome.
‘Could’ve been’ being the operative phrase. Of course, the fact that I own the DVDs also says that while the show wasn’t great, Birds of Prey was a lot of fun. And it had so much potential. Continue reading
Mid-Season Reflections on The Flash
28 DecStewart here…
(Spoilers for the season so far follow…)
For those of you following my A&V Stimuli blog, you probably know I’ve been recapping Flash over there. But not to unintentionally leave you loyal NerdLush readers out of the loop, I thought it’d be fun to discuss my thoughts on the show so far here. Sometimes, a network would slip in something that wasn’t a cartoon, like Power Rangers or Superboy, but it was still a silly bit of family fun. Then FOX would run a couple of movies in the afternoon- usually things that today we’d classify as Syfy channel original films; things like Night of the Lepus. Continue reading

Clark managed to avoid getting beamed up to wherever with Zod and the Kandorians, but still has a lot more problems to deal with on Earth. There’s the warnings of a great evil coming, and Jor-El feels Clark isn’t ready to fight it. Then there’s a shady government guy who’s tagging and monitoring superheroes. Then there’s Chloe faking her death and going into hiding. Then there’s Oliver revealing he’s Green Arrow to the public. Then there’s Lois knowing Clark’s secret unbeknownst to him. Then there’s the anti-vigilante push starting to simmer. And even then, there’s the Lex clone that Tess is secretly raising. Man, here’s hoping this round of minicaps gets him a break. Also in the flashbacks, Ollie has finally gotten off the island, only to end up in Hong Kong with Amanda Waller. There’s more I should tell you about, but hey, let’s leap in…
