As we dig into the downside of May (holy crap! wasn’t it just 2011?) another TV season is coming to a close. Of course, with all the shows on cable, it isn’t like it used to be where summers were spent with nothing but repeats- now there are no series premiering all year long. Nerdplosion… episode 3
14 MayNot too long ago, I mentioned that Action Chick herself had given me a mission to interview some of the ladies of Femme Fatales. Well, today, the interview went live over at AFC. Excited to see this one go live for many reasons, but mostly because this particular interview actually was the most fun I’d had doing this sort of thing. Chatting with the ladies was awesome. They both had such great things to say- and the stories I got from Madison… HILARIOUS! Even better than that though is the fact that Madison and I are now friends and hopefully she will become a contributor here! Life is crazy sometimes.

5 MaySo… I was not one of the souls out late Thursday night for a midnight screening of this summers first Blockbuster- The Avengers, instead I was lounging in bed watching an episode of a favorite series (in case you were wondering- “Leverage“). But I did run out early Friday morning to catch a showing!

mini-Nerdsplosion- This Means War
3 MayOld news now, but I had the opportunity to see a screening of the recent Reese Witherspoon flick, This Means War, and review it for AFC. This mini post is just to link you to it… Though, I will say- for the record- I enjoyed this film immensely. I didn’t go into it with high expectations, but that didn’t stop me from having a good time. If you haven’t seen it, I do recommend it. I mean… don’t shell out $20 for it. Go to the cheap theater or wait for DVD/streaming. Unless you prefer the big fancy screens. Eh… do whatever you want. 😛

CosPlay by the Rules!
23 AprSo… years ago I was at SDCC with my brother and while waiting in line for a panel (the big line, for Ballroom 20) we started discussing the people CosPlaying that walked by. This conversation led to my Rules for CosPlaying. I’ve fine tuned them since then and after my recent visit to WonderCon 2012, I wrote them up for AFC. 🙂 (AFC has a bigger audience so it was the better choice for posting, in case you were wondering why the original post is there and not here). In any case- it’s a humorous read, but I am very serious about every point I make. And if you CosPlay, or know someone who does, or even if you just like to dress up for Halloween, these rules may save your day! Check it out- leave comments!

21 AprIn the not-too-distant future, I am going to set up an interview with Lloyd Kaufman. If you don’t know who that is, you should probably cancel your nerd subscription. In any case, I recently met him
Met Lloyd Kaufman and James Gunn at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim
and have since had some awesome moments in Twitter conversations. So… I will pursue the opportunity to interview Mr. Kaufman. For this site and perhaps AFC.
