Smallville season 8 minicaps: now with 80% less Lex and Lana.

Stewart here…

The big deal-y-o last season is Lex became all out evil by killing his dad, and now his search for the Traveler from another world leading him to the Fortress and Clark.  So Lex hooked up some krpytonian trinket to control Clark and it brought the entire Fortress down on both of them.  Meantime, Chloe is unable to accept Jimmy’s marriage proposal on account of some government agents arresting her, and Lana has decided to leave Clark and get out of Smallville (and considering she survived being turned into some zombie, maybe that’s not a bad idea).  So, let’s go… Continue reading

San Diego Comic-con 2014

26 Jun

The annual event in San Diego is rapidly approaching. Sadly, NerdLush does not appear to have an onsite representative this year. I have been going the last few years attached to the fabulous Action Flick Chick and would be there this year with the Psychology of Cult TV panel however my real life decided to conflict. The panel is scheduled for Thursday and will be awesome, so I want to encourage you to go to it. Even without my smiling face.

SMALLVILLE Minicaps / Season 7, Eps. 17-20 and Season Seven Highlights

The Smallville season 7 minicaps would like to apologize if you don't like these last few episodes. It was the Writer's Strike that did that.

Let’s just get the big news out of the way: LIONEL WAS KILLED BY LEX!  Lionel and some of his high-society buddies were involved in a group called Veritas, who worshipped a “Traveler” from space (hint, hint) and now Lex has turned to patricide to find out the identity of this “traveler”.  Meanwhile, said “Traveler” Clark Kent loses two women in his life when Lana is left comatose by Brainiac and Kara leaves with Brainiac to who-knows-where save Lana.  Oh, and Lana’s is STILL zombified, so so much for that agreement. Midnight Movie Madness! — a brief reflection

12 Jun

Stewart here…

A realization just dawned on me not too long ago: it has been twenty-five years since I saw my first movie at a midnight showing.  These days with some big summer movies having showings the day before at 8 PM or so, its easy to forget the earliest showing most people could get for a big studio blockbuster was at midnight.  For me, that first experience with a summer movie at midnight came in 1989 (another article I’ll have to get to, seeing how BIG that summer turned out to be), and that movie was…

Why Smallville will always be my own personal kryptonite

10 Jun

If you’ve been paying attention you know that we love our superheroes here at NerdLush HQ. And Superman is one of our favorites (though we have equal love, apparently, for all DC and Marvel characters). We could (and probably should) sit around as a group and debate the merits of each Superman and it would likely be quite the entertaining roundtable. But since the crew is scattered, it isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

smallville (1)

None of that is why I am here today… I want to talk about why Smallville will always hold a special place in my heart. Continue reading

The Smallville season 7 minicaps apologize for the delay. Hopefully Bizarro Smallville season 7 minicaps didn’t mess things up too badly while it was here.

Stewart here…

Its all bad news on the Smallville front.  Clark’s finding out what happened while Bizarro Clark had assumed his identity (well, besides schumpting Lana), but not that Bizarro Clark was recently in contact with a reassembled Brainiac.  Kara has been found, but doesn’t remember who she is, but Lex is willing to help her find out.  Speaking of Lex, he’s murdered Grant, the clone of his already dead brother, and something regarding a thing called Veritas is popping up.  We’ll get more on Veritas here, so let’s go… Continue reading

What is your must read COMIC?

29 May

The boys of NerdLush are the ones to usually talk about comics around here, but I have my own little collection, too. And it got me wondering- what books do you pick up every week? And what web comics do you follow? Continue reading
