The holidays are great, right? Pretty decorations, presents, family, food, and lots of shiny baubles to distract me! But… the holidays also mean that your favorite TV shows are taking a break. Sometimes it’s a short break- just til January- but many shows today are breaking til March and allowing other shows to sneak into their timeslot. Continue reading
Is there a point to getting up on Saturday mornings?
6 DecWhen I was a kid, we’d get up early(ish) on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons. Everything from Looney Toons to Spiderman to X-Men to Gummi Bears. They ran from dawn all the way to noon. Sometimes, a network would slip in something that wasn’t a cartoon, like Power Rangers or Superboy, but it was still a silly bit of family fun. Then FOX would run a couple of movies in the afternoon- usually things that today we’d classify as Syfy channel original films; things like Night of the Lepus. Continue reading

And The Next Round of TV Minicaps Goes To…
26 NovStewart here…
Well, I just recently finished doing minicaps for Smallville, which I’ll admit took longer than I planned to do and ultimately finish. It was laid out as a year long job, and thanks to tons of mitigating factors out of my control, took almost a year and a half. But here I am, at the end of it, and now the question I have is: what show will I review next? Continue reading
ARROW Season 3×07, “Draw Back Your Bow” recap
20 Nov
Welcome back, Arrowheads! Well, the good news from last time is Roy didn’t kill Sara, but does remember killing a cop under a Mirakuru OD, so little joy there for Ollie’s sidekick. Also, Ollie stopped a former sidekick of Ted Grant who went on a gangland killing spree, who was being transferred to prison when…hey, who’s that redhead with the bow and arrow killing him? And why has she been popping up in crime scenes where the Arrow has been?
Gotham… do I like it or not?
18 NovAs I type this, I am halfway through the ninth episode of Gotham. And I still can’t decide if I like it.
I want to like it.
I haven’t missed an episode yet. Continue reading

16 NovIn 1992 vampires returned to TV.
Forever Knight followed “Nick Knight”, a homicide detective who just happened to be an 800 year old vampire. The series was a follow-up to the 1989 TV movie, Nick Knight, starring Rick Springfield. The series starred Geraint Wyn Davies as the moody detective. Continue reading
Smallville Minicaps / Season 10, Eps. 17-20
5 NovStewart here…
So here’s what you need to know: with the VRA repealed, our heroes can come out of hiding and start dealing with the big issues again. For Clark, it’s time to time to tie up some things before he gets married to Lois, like getting that Lex clone Conner set on a heroic path. There’s also the unexpected surprises, like Oliver and Chloe’s accidentally getting married (but its all good) and a parallel reality Lionel Luthor (where Clark was his prodigal son) briefly taking over his company. But there’s still more on the horizon to worry about, like Darkseid bringing evil to the world, Ollie being an unknowing agent of Darkseid, and Clark figuring out how to be out in the public as a hero while maintaining a secret identity. We got a lot to take care of before this series ends, don’t we? Continue reading
