Ring Psychology: Royal Rumble 2017

31 Jan

Hello, Nerd Lush readers. My name is Billy, and I’ve been invited to begin a new column on the site.

Most wrestling sites and dirtsheets give a play-by-play of the action. I won’t be doing that… mostly because I’m too busy marking out (geeking out) to actually take notes about what’s happening. Instead, I’ll be reviewing the shows in terms of Ring Psychology. What is Ring Psychology, you might ask? Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×10, “Who Are You?” recap

26 Jan

Welcome back from Winter hiatus, Arrowheads!  When we left Team Arrow last year, things were not so rosy for them.  Quentin went into rehab, Curtis is estranged from his hubby, Evelyn turned on them to side with Prometheus, Diggle got busted by the military, and Prometheus tricked Ollie into killing Felicity’s cop boyfriend!  As if things couldn’t get worse, a familiar face appears in the Arrow HQ: Laurel Lance!  The DEAD Laurel Lance!  What is going on there?  Let’s hold on that for a second and focus on another big reveal that happens this episode… Continue reading

Dusting Off The Shelf: Letter D

25 Jan

For the fourth installment I chose Draft Day. This movie has been sitting on my shelf, in my “to be watched” pile since it’s release. But much like the “to be read” pile beside my bed, that pile just keeps getting higher and higher and this one keeps getting further from the top.

DC TV Recap Round-up Premiere!

23 Jan

Stewart here…

As I do recaps of Arrow here (and still will be despite this recap round-up), I also find myself lacking little to no time to cover some of the other DC related shows on TV right now.  Instead of trying to cover each individually and in depth, leading to delays (you know, like those missing posts on Legends of Tomorrow I have failed to turn in…), I thought it might be a easy and inventive solution to try some quick weekly recaps of shows like Legends, as well as some other shows I don’t cover for NerdLush, like The Flash and Supergirl.  I might do some other DC shows in the downtime, but for now, lets stick to The CW’s crop.  First up: Continue reading

Dusting Off The Shelf: Letter C

17 Jan

Here we go again! For the third installment, we’ll be watching Constantine. I almost chose Cellular, but since I just watched a Chris Evans film, I decided to go with this older film that I’ve had sitting on the shelf for… years. I know! I suck!

My thoughts on ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY!

5 Jan

Stewart here…

Some heavy SPOILERS within…

As I had NO TIME this holiday season to do it, I now have finally watched the first of the Star Wars spinoff movies, ROGUE ONE.  My early thoughts are that I enjoyed seeing a different look into the Star Wars universe that had nothing to do with the Skywalker clan (well, except for one significant appearance and one fleeting one), and for the most part, I thought it was a solid movie.  I’m not sure about it being all that kid-friendly (which we will discuss why further), but I legit enjoyed ROGUE ONE, even though I think there are one or two brief bits of fan service that seemed really unnecessary.  But, how about we skip the long write-up, and break down the good and bad of this movie point by point? Continue reading

Dusting Off The Shelf: Letter A

3 Jan

Starting a new series of posts this year… the goal being a post every week. I’ll be doing a movie review of sorts, picking a title out of my DVD collection (at least until I run out of titles!) that I’ve never seen… and each week I’ll be following the alphabet. So… to start off, I’m picking Austenland. Continue reading

Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, San Jose… Stephen Amell

1 Jan

Late summer 2016, we headed over towards the coast to check out a new (to us) convention, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest. We had a lot of fun… and I’m finally getting off my butt to share the video we shot of Stephen Amell’s solo panel.  Continue reading
