Ten seasons have boiled down to this. The threat of Darkseid is looming closer than anyone can suspect, the alt reality Lionel is still running around, Ollie is under the influence of Darkseid’s prophets of doom, and after a almost fatal incident, Lois has gotten cold feet about the wedding to Clark. A lot is going to happen to before its over, along with a few deaths and a rebirth, but most importantly, it’s time for Clark Kent to live up to his destiny and fight the darkness. Go get ’em, Clark. A little John Barrowman is good for the soul.

10 Nov

As previously mentioned in the recent Comikaze Expo post, NerdLush caught the John Barrowman panels at the convention. We also caught them on video for those not able to attend the convention… and to be honest, because we just adore the man and wanted to be able to watch the panels again.

ARROW Season 3×05, “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak” recap

6 Nov

arrow302

Welcome back, Arrowheads! With the title of this episode, maybe we should start this recap by asking: what do we know about Felicity Smoak? She’s a computer prodigy, possibly Jewish, and has a mom who’s a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. As you can expect, we’re about to learn a bit more about Team Arrow’s genius. Also unrelated to Ms. Smoak, Thea is running the Verdant again, Laurel is taking to training to vent her anger, and why should we be concerned about Roy’s sleep trouble? Continue reading

So here’s what you need to know: with the VRA repealed, our heroes can come out of hiding and start dealing with the big issues again. For Clark, it’s time to time to tie up some things before he gets married to Lois, like getting that Lex clone Conner set on a heroic path. There’s also the unexpected surprises, like Oliver and Chloe’s accidentally getting married (but its all good) and a parallel reality Lionel Luthor (where Clark was his prodigal son) briefly taking over his company. But there’s still more on the horizon to worry about, like Darkseid bringing evil to the world, Ollie being an unknowing agent of Darkseid, and Clark figuring out how to be out in the public as a hero while maintaining a secret identity. We got a lot to take care of before this series ends, don’t we? Continue reading

ARROW Season 3×04, “The Magician” recap

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Last time we left everyone, Ollie took a trip out of town to bring Thea back home, who was unknown to Ollie, being trained by noted psychopath Malcolm Merlyn. Malcolm let her go, but who knows what that means. Seriously, he’s crazy. This was a brief break from the ongoing mystery of Sara’s murder, which was still having ripples through everyone. Felicity had taken Ray Palmer’s job at Queen Consolidated, and Laurel attempted her own vigilante thing and asking for help in training, which got a major “NO” from Ollie and a “sure” from boxer Ted Grant. And just when Ollie was getting over the jet lag, Nyssa shows up wondering what happened to Sara. Oooooh, this is going to an uncomfortable talk…

Great news, everyone! Clark and Lois are engaged! And Chloe’s back! This was pretty much the only good news from the last time we left our gang. The VRA cracked down on heroes, the heroes went into hiding, Hawkman was killed, clone Lex escaped, and now a Lionel Luthor from a mirror universe has arrived. And oh yeah, a great darkness is coming, people have Omega symbols on their skull, yadda yadda yadda. So, let’s get back to it… Continue reading

Clark Kent is a busy man these days, and that’s before he reveals to Lois his secret and discovering she already knew! There’s that great evil coming, an anti-vigilante bill, dealing with the in-laws, and maybe, just maybe, a marriage proposal? And don’t forget the in hiding Chloe, Tess hiding a going crazy Lex clone, and Tess discovering she’s Lionel’s orphaned daughter! Whew. Lot of stuff for Clark to do in this round of minicaps… Continue reading

ARROW Season 3×03, “Corto Maltese” recap

Welcome back, Arrowheads! Last time we were here, Team Arrow was searching for Sara’s killer, and despite stopping a deadly archer assassin, got no joy and not Sara’s killer. I suppose we’ll get to that eventually, but there’s other things to mention before we get to this episode. For instance, Laurel keeping Sara’s death a secret from dad (he has a heart condition!), Felicity taking Ray Palmer’s new high paying job, and Ollie finding out Thea’s not so much “on extended vacation”, but “just getting away from everyone”, and deciding to bring her home. I’m sure finding out about Thea will be nothing in comparison to when he finds out his baby sister is being taught to fight by Malcolm Merlyn! Yeah, the mass murderer and not dead Malcolm Merlyn! I smell an awkward reunion on the horizon… Continue reading

Not too long ago I fell in love with the UK version of Primeval which led to checking out the Syfy channel version Primeval: New World. I loved it. And bonus fun, there was a hauntingly beautiful song at the end of one episode that I had to have. Continue reading

“Damn fine cup of coffee!” “Let’s rock.” “That gum you like is going to come back in style…”

By now, you have heard every clichéd Twin Peaks quote under the sun since last week’s announcement that the show will return to TV in 2016 with the original creators, Mark Frost and David Lynch, at the helm. The news sent the internet into a cherry pie-induced sugar high and the world was partying like it was 1991.
