Welcome back, fellow travelers of the Uncharted Territories, for another mini-cap on Farscape. When last we left our crew of derelict prisoners, things got a little steamy between John and Aeryn, they picked up another prisoner in thief and likely cold-blooded killer Chiana, John got stranded and grew a bad beard (less said about that particular one the better), and he got to go home, albeit in a bizarre simulation by a race of aliens. Of course, the last part turns out to be more eventful than even he knows, which leads us into the next batch of episodes… Continue reading
If I Can Just Have 5 Minutes Of Your Time~ Web Series reviews, issue 1, Vampire Mob
30 JulWhen I started this site back in March, one of the things I knew I wanted to do was showcase and review things like comics and web series. Well, Stewart accepted the challenge of looking at comics with his ongoing series, As Long As I Don’t Wear Tights Or Spandex, so now I want to get started with a look at web series (I want to also touch on web comics, but that’s another set of posts).
I’ve gotten involved over the last few years with a lot of people that either work on or are attached in some way to a lot of different web series, and thus they keep coming to my attention. Just recently we’ve showcased Tara Platt & Yuri Lowenthal due to my work with Action Flick Chick regarding their work, Shelf Life the Series. So… these things just keep coming at me!
But for the first series up on the block, I want to share one that is near and dear to me- in part because as a supporter of it, the ups & downs of this little show have sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. But also because the creator has become a friend and really, when doing these things you should pimp your buds first, right? Thought so.
(Just to be safe… there might be spoilers)

Welcome back, fellow travelers of the Uncharted Territories, for another mini-cap on Farscape. We’re now past the midway point of season one, and the escaped prisoners on Moya have been having quite a time. In the last mini-cap alone, Aeryn got some of Pilot’s DNA in her (along with some leftovers afterwards), D’Argo starts trying to stop being a jerkoff to John, Zhaan had to deal with Delvian insanity, and, oh yeah, Moya’s pregnant. Yep, a living spaceship is expecting. So with that, let’s get to it. Continue reading

Well, its time for another mini-cap on Farscape. A brief recap on how things are going so far for our band of fugitives in the Uncharted Territories first, though. John Crichton is still stuck in the wrong galaxy. Aeryn is still “irreversibly contaminated”, D’Argo is still angry, Rygel is still full of himself, and Zhaan is still blue, although her recent excursion into the darkside is not reassuring. Oh, and the Peacekeeper commander Crais who is hunting them? He’s pretty much hiding his superiors’ orders to return home by killing his own officers. So with that, let’s get to it. Continue reading
As Long As I Don’t Wear Tights or Spandex, Issue 3 — PAX ROMANA

PAX ROMANA by Jonathan Hickman (Image Comics/collected)
If anything can be learned from time travel stories, its that meddling with the past can have unintended consequences. One of the best examples of this is the now late Ray Bradbury’s classic short story A Sound of Thunder, where a simple bug being crushed changes the entire course of human history. With all the infinite possibilities for disaster the notion of going back to the past presents, you would think such an idea would not be cavalierly pursued. The concept of writer/artist Jonathan Hickman’s time travel world-building epic Pax Romana is that even with a unified purpose, things still can change in a surprising way. Continue reading

Well, its time for another mini-cap on Farscape. Here’s a bit of trivia for those of you coming in new via DVD and streaming: I saw almost all of season one when it first aired on Sci-Fi Channel back in 1999, and like many shows, aired their first batch of episodes out of order, starting with some of their strongest episodes up front. And that lack of strength in the early run of the show led to some concern among the channel’s execs about ordering more episodes, which started to be put to rest around the time the episode “PK Tech Girl” (a personal favorite of mine in the show’s run) came into production. Obviously this delay in dropping the hammer on the show was for the best, because the show starts coming into its own.
So, without further ado, let’s get into it: Continue reading
