Clark has managed to escape the wreckage of the Fortress (whether Lex did as well is another mystery) and set out on the next phase of his life: without Lana and working as a reporter for the Daily Planet alongside Lois.  But he also has a new boss in new Luthorcorp boss Tess Mercer, who has inherited Lex’s tendency to get involved in sinister alien stuff.  Chloe and Jimmy get engaged, and we meet a possibly new friend in EMT Davis Bloome, who spends his time between saving lives and waking up naked in alleyways.  I’m sure the latter part of that’s just a phase he’s going through.  Anyhoo… Continue reading →

The big deal-y-o last season is Lex became all out evil by killing his dad, and now his search for the Traveler from another world leading him to the Fortress and Clark.  So Lex hooked up some krpytonian trinket to control Clark and it brought the entire Fortress down on both of them.  Meantime, Chloe is unable to accept Jimmy’s marriage proposal on account of some government agents arresting her, and Lana has decided to leave Clark and get out of Smallville (and considering she survived being turned into some zombie, maybe that’s not a bad idea).  So, let’s go… Continue reading →

Light & Dark… Black & White… Good & Bad… who would you rather be?

Last year I wanted to learn more about creating “crazy” characters and utilized social media to reach out to actors, writers, and creators in order to learn the different perspectives. As a mental health professional, I have found that I lose a bit when I watch something as I tend to sit and observe the characters- looking to diagnose, to see their flaws, to learn who they are, etc. Usually I can turn it off and focus on the story but sometimes it is harder than others. Especially after a long day with clients.

Why Smallville will always be my own personal kryptonite

If you’ve been paying attention you know that we love our superheroes here at NerdLush HQ. And Superman is one of our favorites (though we have equal love, apparently, for all DC and Marvel characters). We could (and probably should) sit around as a group and debate the merits of each Superman and it would likely be quite the entertaining roundtable. But since the crew is scattered, it isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

ARROW Season 2×22, “Streets of Fire” recap

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  So the proverbial crap has hit the proverbial fan.  Ollie’s in a bit of a funk after Moira’s death, but gets put right by Team Arrow and…Laurel?  Yeah, she gives him enough motivation to get back to the hood wearing to take down Sebastian Blood and that Mirakuru-army of his.  And then Team Arrow gets sidetracked in a few ways: Ollie and Laurel being trapped in the tunnels below Starling City; Felicity getting a call from STAR Labs about that Mirakuru cure; and Diggle facing off against a really ticked off Isabel.  And things get worse with Blood’s army laying siege to places like Quentin’s precinct house and the train station where Thea is, while the army makes its way into town.  Ruh-Roh! Join us for a drink… OTP – Olicity, Arrow, and More!

OTP – or One True Pairing – is a fandom term used to denote pairings fans believe are the best couples. This occurs throughout fandom mediums – television shows, books, movies…even “real life people”. In most fandoms, there are fanfics that are written by the fans in order to tell a story, the way they see fit. To be honest, some of the fics are quite well-written with compelling stories. Others… not so much (off-topic, but recently there was an announcement of a “One Direction” fanfic that was being published… excerpts of the book were released as well… it was painful drivel). But these fics also allow for fans to have their OTP as they see fit… something that may go against what the writers of a show or the author of a book series may want (for now anyway).    Continue reading →

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  What you need to know so far: Roy’s still kept comatose, Thea’s not handling life very well, Sara’s taken off to see an old friend, and Slade just killed Moira in front of Oliver and Thea!  So by default, Sebastian Blood’s become mayor of Starling City (I guess) and we got an army of Mirakuru-enhanced men waiting to be let out.  So how is Ollie going to handle this one last fatal blow from Slade?
