This is not a review. I have to start out with that because I am not a film critic, at least no more than the next Average Joe, nor am I qualified to review a film by talking about the elements that were done to create it. What this is is a collection of the thoughts I had while watching Wonder Woman and afterwards. The simplest way to describe my reaction is this- I loved it. Stop now if you haven’t seen the film as I cannot be held responsible for any spoilers found herein.
Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, San Jose… Stephen Amell
1 JanLate summer 2016, we headed over towards the coast to check out a new (to us) convention, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest. We had a lot of fun… and I’m finally getting off my butt to share the video we shot of Stephen Amell’s solo panel. Continue reading
Out and About in the Central Valley- Modesto Con
19 JulSince moving HQ from LA to the Central Valley in 2014, we’ve tried to ensure that we take in the local nerdy scene. Growing up in the area, I remember having a few decent events when I was a kid and then nothing for a solid 10 years. Thus… it’s been a lot of fun checking out some of the local conventions and seeing the community grow.
We recently had the opportunity to hop in the car for an hour plus drive to head to Modesto for a convention. Now… I cannot remember the last time I actually stopped the car in Modesto… but it’s one of the little towns in the Valley with a lot of fun history. You might remember it as the town from American Graffiti… Continue reading
Television Graveyard, plot 15~ John Doe
19 JunOne of the great things about having so many streaming services or easy to access DVDs these days is that when one is watching something and gets inspired to see more that an actor has done… it’s pretty easy to do. In the case of this post, I was watching the Legends of Tomorrow repeat last week and was reminded that before Prison Break, Dominic Purcell had another TV show on FOX, John Doe.
Another WonderCon survival story!
20 MayI’ve been sitting on my thoughts about WonderCon 2016 for a bit now because I was bitter about being there alone this year… but that wasn’t WonderCon’s fault. So I’ve decided to draft my thoughts and just move on.
WonderCon 2015: the continuing adventures of this nerdy bunny
7 Apr
Trekked south this past weekend for the annual WonderCon event in Anaheim. The con continues to be a wonderful midsize event that draws a great crowd of awesome nerds. It’s certainly a smaller event than the summer shindig that is SDCC but that works in several ways- easier to breath without quite so many people, it’s easier to get in to events and panels, and without the major studios cramming the exhibit hall it gives fans a chance to actually chat with creators. How do we survive the loss of a character? It hurts so bad!
30 MarA few weeks ago, it was announced that Tyler Hoechlin- “Derek” on MTV’s Teen Wolf– would be leaving the show. Now, it makes sense as his character was pushed out of a central role in the last season and half because there are a ton of teens on the show (and the actor reportedly wants freedom to do more movies) but… Derek is one of the reasons I watch the show.
Without him, will I continue to watch? Continue reading
