NerdLush Asks ~ Artist Steve Scott interviewed at Long Beach Comic-con

14 Mar

Admittedly, it’s been a while since this video was filmed at Long Beach Comic-con last fall, but it’s never too late to share it and learn a little from an amazing comic artist and NerdLush friend. Steve Scott is probably best known as a Batman artist, prior to the “new 52”, however he has quite the library of works that he has been a part of. I met Steve a few years ago at Wizard World New Orleans, and for some reason our insanities clicked and we’ve been friends. Always a pleasure to see his work. Continue reading

Guilty Pleasures- Sleepy Hollow

12 Mar

Every year there is at least one TV show that squeezes it’s way into my viewing schedule and steals my heart. In the 2012-2013 season it was Arrow. After seeing the pilot- which I loved- it was clear that the show could go either way. It could suck, burning and dying in an insane death, or it could be awesome. And it was AWESOME. So in the fall of 2013, Fox introduced a show that should’ve died after the second or third episode… but it didn’t.

Why I adore Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

8 Mar

It’s no secret that I am a fan of all things Whedon and Marvel, nor is it a secret that when I saw the pilot ep for S.H.I.E.L.D. at San Diego Comic Con 2013 I may have squee’d like a crazy puppy (ask my brother). But like others, I drifted over the next few episodes after the premiere last fall. I mean… I was still in for the season, but I didn’t feel the energy that I felt with the pilot.

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  What you need to know: on the island, the trio of Ollie, Sara, and Slade have figured out a way onto the freighter.  In the present, Ollie comes home to see his mom meeting an old friend…Slade!  Something tells me there’s not going to be much talk between those two about how things have been over the last few years. Guest Blog~ Geek Mom Worries

4 Mar

NerdLush friend, Jackie, is back with another guest post about raising a geek baby.

***************************************************************

As a geek mom raising a geek baby can be both exciting and frustrating. My daughter just turned 1 and I love introducing her to new things and experiences. I can’t wait as she grows to read some of my favorite books, share my favorite movies, and watch her develop her inner geek. It will be fascinating to watch. Will she like comic books? Superheroes? DC or Marvel? What will her favorite show be? Book? Movie? Which Doctor will she like the most? Will she love going to comic cons and immersing herself in the geek atmosphere? Or will she grow up and reject it all? No matter what her decision is, I just want to make sure she’s well informed and will love whatever it is that she decides to ….well…love. Continue reading

Our pal  Marc is back with another guest post! Marc watches a lot of movies and reviews them on TwoOhSix.com all while defying the conventions of what a “movie critic” is typically supposed to be.

Welcome back, Arrow-heads!  What you need to know: Sara Lance is back, and now free from her connection to the League of Assassins.  Not that Laurel’s happy, because she’s still a wreck and blames Sara for ruining their family’s lives since she went missing.  In other family troubles, Felicity finds out about Thea’s secret parentage and tells Ollie this at probably the worse time.  He promises to keep that secret to Moira, but wants nothing to do with her outside of her mayoral campaign.  And Slade’s planning to deal with Moira Queen in what way, exactly?  Well, let’s just see what happens… Continue reading

I still love 80′s movies, part the third!

26 Feb

Stewart here…

The 80’s were a formative time in my life, especially when it came to movies.  Either due to my understanding of things at an early age or bad parenting (only as of late have I questioned which one it is), I got exposed to some great movies at some pivotal times in my childhood.  Many of them you’ve seen in previous posts, so to you I present some which hold a special place in my heart: Continue reading
