Welcome back, Arrow-heads! So here’s what you need to know: Roy has to break up with Thea because Ollie said so, and guess what happens after that? Slade kidnaps Thea! And hey, doesn’t Ollie run a company while going out at night fighting baddies? We got a lot of twists to get to, so let’s just jump in… Continue reading
2014 Con Season is in full swing!
30 MarThe convention season has gone from being a late spring through early fall series of events to year round. Which makes it sort of silly to refer to it a season, but most people do not attend conventions year round- the biggest events are still centered within the traditional calendar, with smaller, regional (but good sized!) events occurring the rest of the year.
Already in 2014 we’ve seen some amazing moments happen at conventions- you all saw the pic of Stan Lee “breaking up a fight” between Lou Ferrigno and Chris Hemsworth from Wizard World Sacramento, right? Brilliant! And just this weekend, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s “Deathlok” (J. August Richards) palled around with Arrow‘s “Oliver Queen” (Stephen Amell) at Emerald City Comic-con. Astute fans also remember Richards as “Mr. Blank” in a first season episode of Arrow (he was merciless!). Continue reading
Popped the Paley Fest Cherry- Sleepy Hollow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. take the stage
28 MarThe Paley Fest is an amazing experience for fans to interact with their favorite shows. The 2014 festival is underway and NerdLush made it over for two of our favorite freshman shows- FOX’s Sleepy Hollow and ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The bonus for us is that both shows have recently had posts here because they quickly became favorites this year.
The Paley Fest has been growing over the last several years- similar to how SDCC has grown immensely over the last few years- and this year moved to a new home at the Dolby Theatre. This is the home of the Academy Awards- and it looks MUCH larger on TV then it is in person. But it is a beautiful theatre and adds opportunity to increase the size of the audience. Continue reading
ARROW Season 2×17, “Birds of Prey” recap
26 MarWelcome back, Arrow-heads! Some things you might want to remember going into this one: last time we saw Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress was when she took Ollie’s cop girlfriend out of commission while trying to kill her father. She got stopped by Arrow, and daddy Frank escaped to…somewhere. Also, now that Laurel is going to AA and has stopped blaming everyone for her issues, she’s looking for employment. Oh, and Slade Wilson is going to kill Ollie and everyone he knows. Just keeping things in perspective.
SMALLVILLE Minicaps / Season 7, Eps. 5-8
24 Mar
The Smallville season 7 minicaps is still trying to wrap its head around Lana being cloned and the clone being blown to pieces. Really, that plot twist just came out of NOWHERE.
Stewart here…
Everyone’s busy, busy, busy these days. Clark’s helping his cousin Kara adjust to life on Earth, Chloe’s feeling let out because the new Daily Planet editor Grant Gabriel has taken a shine to Lois, and Lex is busy working on some big anti-alien defense, which I’m sure, there’s some creepy ulterior motive in that. Then there’s Lana, who’s adjusting to life back in Smallville after that whole “faking her death with a cloned body Lex made, then blaming Lex for it” thing (never gets easier to write that) by setting up a group to help meteor freaks. She also is creepily monitoring Lex’s mansion and responsible for another thing we’re going to get to right about…now… Continue reading
Guest Post!!~ I love 80’s movies, part cuatro- The Bad Ones
22 MarNerdLush friend, Jackie, is back with another guest post– this time she chimes in with her love for those 80’s movies that are so bad… you just have to love them!
********************************************************************************
I love movies.
I will watch nearly any movie at least once. Okay, maybe twice, probably three times. I hold a special place in my heart for 80s movies. In fact, I have a rather large collection of movies that were made in the 80s. I hold an even deeper, more special place in my heart for BAD 80s movies. I don’t know why, but I just adore 80s movies with cheesy plotlines, bad acting and horrible special effects and costumes. Continue reading
ARROW Season 2×16, “Suicide Squad” recap
20 MarWelcome back, Arrow-heads! What you need to know is Ollie knows Slade Wilson is alive and coming for him and probably his family. And, what about that group Amanda Waller is forming that happens to have Bronze Tiger in it? Also, Diggle’s overdue for a adventure of his own, right? Well strap in, sports fans, because its Diggle time this week! Continue reading
Guest post!~ More Blood, More Sweat, and More Abs: A Spartan Tale Continues
18 MarOur pal Marc is back with another guest post! Marc watches a lot of movies and reviews them on TwoOhSix.com all while defying the conventions of what a “movie critic” is typically supposed to be.
*****************************************************************************
In 2006, Zack Snyder’s 300 debuted with a brutally brilliant visual style that captured the attention of audiences around the world and now, 300: Rise of an Empire is here to fill in even more of the hyper stylized story surrounding the infamous 300 Spartan soldiers who defied an army and gave their lives for a nation. Noam Murro takes over directing duties while Lena Heady, Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, and Callan Mulvey round out the extremely athletic cast.

16 MarIn NerdLush’s first year, Emily and I took a day trip from LA and ran over to Solvang for some entertainment. It was quite a lovely day of fun and silliness. Continue reading
