ARROW Season 5×23, “Lian Yu” recap

Welcome back, Arrowheads! It’s season finale time, and last time we were all here, we got quite a setup.  Ollie was put in the unenviable position to free our season’s big bad, Adrian Chase, when Adrian’s associates kidnapped all of Team Arrow, even his hidden son!  Discovering Adrian had made his way to Lian Yu to setup some final confrontation between the two, Ollie knew he had to get some help, and enlisted Malcolm Merlyn and Nyssa al Ghul.  But once they all got to the island, he still had to get one more hand to help him in this fight: the imprisoned Deathstroke/Slade Wilson!  How will this wobbly team-up going to fare against all those bad guys?  Well, before we get to the shocking result, let’s check in on another ticking clock… Continue reading →

Dusting Off the Shelf: Letter T

Me again. How’s things? I actually didn’t have a lot of T’s in my collection, but I’ve got one that I’ve owned for almost a decade but never bothered to watch because… honestly, I don’t remember why. I know I wanted to see it in the theater but when it came out I was in the middle of cramming all the courses ever in order to finish my bachelors… anyways, it’s sat on my shelf and today I broke down and finally watched Tristan & Isolde.

ARROW Season 5×22, “Missing” recap

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  We’re on the tail end of the season, and it seems we are going out on a good note.  The big bad of the season, Adrian Chase, has been captured and imprisoned, which I’m sure is a relief to everyone in Team Arrow.  So I guess there’s no big city ending threat this season and the next two episodes is gonna be the gang just kicking back and enjoying some quiet time catching up with their favorite books or TV shows.

ARROW Season 5×21, “Honor Thy Fathers” recap

Some thoughts on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2!

(Major SPOILERS coming up, but first, some less spoiler-ish thoughts…)

Marking the second movie in a month where Vin Diesel is in it, as well as Kurt Russell, and with the big subject of “family”, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has finally arrived!  The first movie was a surprise to lot of filmgoers and critics who didn’t know from early previews what to make of this bizarre comic book sci-fi action movie, and with its equally shocking success, it seemed inevitable a sequel would be coming our way.  Written and directed again by James Gunn, was this sequel going to live up to the original?  The short answer is: yes.  The longer answer is: well, keep reading… Continue reading →

ARROW Season 5×20, “Underneath” recap

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  When last we left Team Arrow, they were still on the hunt for creepy ‘ol Prometheus, but they had some distractions of late.  The big one being Felicity’s involvement with HELIX causing some friction between her and Ollie, and by happenstance, Diggle and Lyla over ARGUS’ recent activities.  But it’s the former couple we need to discuss, because as Felicity’s using the special tracer she got from HELIX to find Adrian Chase, her and Ollie are caught an explosion inside the HQ!  Did they survive?  Well, YES obviously, but let’s see how… Continue reading →
