Dusting Off The Shelf: Letter S

I’m a bit late with this one… sorry about that but I got caught up in Netflix. I’m back, though, and this week I decided it was time for something ridiculous- Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse!

Synopsis: Typical bit of tomfoolery in a lab leads to zombies, which (of course) get out. Our heroes are local scouts who happen to be out on a camp-out when the outbreak happens. And the stripper who saves them.

Why I chose this film: Did you see the title? How can you ask me why I chose it, I mean… I think it’s fairly obvious why I would chose this one. It’s ridiculous! Which makes it perfect.

One thing I really liked is that the zombies not only were runners but they also, apparently, were thinkers. They reacted to pain and to different stimuli. They weren’t mindless which I find gets tiresome.

I also really liked that the scouts didn’t go outside of what scouts would know when it came time for them to become badasses. They didn’t pick up semi-automatic rifles, they got weed whackers & nail guns and MacGyver’ed them.

Will I watch it again: Zombie cats, dude. Take that as a yes. Obviously.

Why you should watch it too (or run far away!): Do you like ridiculous zombie movies? Do you like crass jokes? If so, give it a gander. It’s not gonna win awards, but it is fun and amusing.
