Last time, the Stargate program was brought out of mothballs to contend with the evil Apophis and his Jaffa soldiers. In comes Colonel Jack O’Neill, Captain Sam Carter, and eventually Dr. Daniel Jackson, and turncoat Jaffa soldier, Teal’c, to fight Apophis. With Apophis stealing people close to the team (Daniel’s wife, Jack’s surrogate son) and the discovery of being able to dial the Stargate to other planets in the galaxy, the team is off for adventure! Into The Woods we go again…

In the late 1980’s, Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” premiered on Broadway. In 1991, it was produced for television. On a personal level, I first saw it on a local stage in 1991 and fell head over heels. However, the Bernedette Peters version will always be the ultimate production.

So, if you’ve read the recap of the movie this show shares a name with, you know the following: we discovered a gate to another part of the galaxy, we ran into a culture of humans evolved differently than us, fought evil aliens, and killed said evil aliens. The expedition team, made up of Colonel Jack O’Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson, had a wild time, but made friends (and in Daniel’s case, a wife) before leaving, sans Jackson.
