Whoa! Pilot Season already?!?! Time Flies!
20 MayI’ve been trying to follow the pilots that were announced to see if there were any that I’d be interested in for the fall. I don’t think any of my series are ending this year so there isn’t a lot of free space for new shows, but I do like to try things out. Now that the networks have announced their schedules and the upfronts have happened, let’s take a peek at which shows I’m hoping are worth my time in the fall. I’d love to hear which shows you’re interested in… Continue reading
Spoilers AHOY! Let’s talk about those season finales! part 1
18 MayI’m up at my mom’s (a nice place to visit and come home to) and have been struck down by an evil genius stomach bug that has kept me here a week longer than planned. The one upside to this evil bug is that I’ve gotten to hang out with my family during the ends of some of our favorite shows and enjoy those finale cliffhangers together. (Though, my brother is annoyed because I keep snaking his chair)
Let’s just be safe- there be SPOILERS here!

Last time, we got introduced to the world of Smallville, Kansas, where a teenage Clark Kent discovers that his abnormal powers are probably from the fact he’s not from this planet. He also has to contend with other things, like making friends with a slightly older but still bald Lex Luthor, juggling his friends Pete and Chloe, deal with his crush on Lana Lang, and just going through high school. Oh, and occasionally he has to deal with people affected in various ways by the meteor storm that brought him to Earth. Really, that’s all you need to know going in. Anyhoo… Continue reading
What are you trying to say??
8 MaySo… I don’t have normal TV at home. I use Roku and watch Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc to keep up with my shows. This week I am home visiting my family. Which translates to, “I have CABLE” or “MUST WATCH ALL THE SHOWS”. And there’s this thing that happens on TV that doesn’t happen on my Roku (mostly). Commercials. And after a few days I have to ask- what the hell are they trying to sell me? Continue reading

A brief introduction: I’ve always been a Superman fan. Yeah, he was a Boy Scout in tights, but he was also one of the more interesting characters in comic-dom to me. You got the immigrant boy who is sent to a land foreign to him, who then grows up with values and moral decency to become that strange land’s hero. Kind of inspiring to read something like that, and if that college-esque dissection didn’t do that for you, there’s the thrill of seeing someone fly and fight bad guys. Continue reading
FARSCAPE Revisited Mini-caps / The Peacekeeper Wars
24 AprStewart here…and fair warning, some spoilers lie within…
Greetings fellow travelers of the Uncharted Territories, to the final (for the foreseeable future) mini-cap of Farscape. So, after a multitude of factors (like ratings), some of which couldn’t be seen coming (like lack of money), Farscape left the airwaves after four seasons. But loyal fans wanted to see the show come back (or at least get wrapped up properly), and their wishes got answered a year later, with the announcement of a miniseries in The Peacekeeper Wars. Its one of the rare occasions where the fans were able to drum up the need for more of what they want after the supposed death bell rang. Continue reading
Should I Stay or Should I Go? — When Genre Shows Need to Stop
20 AprStewart here…
Every television show has to end. There is no way to really avoid that for many loyal fans, but like many of those fans, I wonder when that time comes, is it too soon or too late. Keeping a show fresh and enjoyable for seasons is no easy task, but with changes in cast and crew, sometimes that task becomes harder to accomplish. Sometimes a show should know, in the immortal words of Kenny Rogers, “when to hold ‘em”, and “when to fold ‘em”. Continue reading
