Welcome back, Arrowheads! Team Arrow is facing a new enemy in HIVE, led by mystical baddie Damien Darhk, but also faces their own set of troubles, like Ollie and Diggle still being a bit guarded to each other. But there’s the big problem in Team Arrow of Thea having some murderous impulses thanks to her time in the pit. Laurel suggests taking her away for some rest, but what she doesn’t tell everyone else is she’s taking Thea to Nanda Parbat to get help from Thea’s dad. Oh, and to complete the girls’ vacation out, they dig up Sara’s corpse! It’s like Weekend at Bernie’s with super heroines! But since Sara’s corpse is being taken to be resurrected in the Lazarus Pit, its more like Weekend at Bernie’s 2…with super heroines. Sounds fun! Continue reading
Welcome back, Arrowheads! Ollie and Felicity head back to Star City after playing happy suburban couple for a while. What they’ve come back to is a reticent Diggle, a slightly vicious Thea, and a new threat in HIVE, led by the not quite human Damien Darhk. Darhk wants to lay waste to the city, and has help…in a maybe reluctant Quentin! Also in the flashback portion of our tour, Ollie gets picked up by Amanda Waller and sent on a secret mission to a familiar haunt…Lian Yu! Also, someone will be in a grave six months down the road. As I write this there are still a few hours before the show begins… and I cannot believe I am excited to watch WWE. This will be the third WWE thing I have ever seen. The first was two weeks ago when Stephen Amell (“Oliver Queen” on Arrow) apppeared on WWE RAW. He ended up in the ring beating “Stardust” and being pulled off by “security”. Continue reading
Towards the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the WB* attempted to keep the Girl Power strong with their network by bringing in some DC characters. After all, the WB was riding high on Smallville‘s success. They still had Charmed, but they seemed to want some ladies who kicked ass, without the cartoony silliness the Halliwell sisters sometimes got into- I don’t mock, still love Charmed!
What they got was thirteen episodes of what could’ve been awesome.
‘Could’ve been’ being the operative phrase. Of course, the fact that I own the DVDs also says that while the show wasn’t great, Birds of Prey was a lot of fun. And it had so much potential. Continue reading
While I absolutely love attending San Diego Comic Con, this year real life has kept me at home and watching the news online for all the latest nerd tidbits.
The downside of hitting a convention for only one day is that the day is spent rushing around trying to see as much as possible while still enjoying it. The upside? You went to a convention- any time spent at one is a good time.
I got a last minute-ish invite to join a panel at Wizard World Sacramento and as it is only a hop and three skips north of the NerdLush HQ, I accepted. But as it is so close, it made as much sense to opt for a day trip as it did to go for the whole weekend (especially with several other things coming up quick).
