The bounty on the Stargate SG-1 Season Three Minicaps is not that high. Barely worth the effort to hunt it down.

SG-1 has been busy. They killed Hathor, negotiated the safety of Earth from other System Lords, and managed to kill an ancient Goa’uld on Earth. Not too bad, considering how much time laid out they’ve been clocking in the meantime. Let’s see what they do with this round of minicaps…

Being a longtime comics reader, I have a certain affinity for Daredevil, the blind hero of Hell’s Kitchen. I would drop in and out of the book in the last twenty plus odd years, but the most consistent I’ve been with Daredevil is during an insanely great run in the 00’s from writer Brian Michael Bendis, and subsequently writer Ed Brubaker. In that run, lawyer Matt Murdock and his crime-fighting alter ego went through an insane ringer of stuff, like his identity being made public, basically taking over Hell’s Kitchen, getting sent to prison, getting married, going crazy, and ending up running the lethal clan of assassins known as The Hand (I could mention what happened after that where he was possessed by a demon and tried to take over New York, but I rather not). In recent years, he’s gotten a better break in things, moving to San Francisco of all places, but clearly that’s not where this Netflix based Marvel TV show is placing itself. Like the eponymous movie of the same name (and for a better word on that than mine, check out the How Did This Get Made podcast episode on that), we’re staying in New York for this new take on Ol’ Hornhead. Welcome back, Arrowheads! Previously: things went galactically bad for Team Arrow as Quentin decided to hammer out his betrayal issues by hunting them down. Then he found out from Ra’s (a reliable source, I guess) that Ollie’s the Arrow, and things got not remotely better. To save everyone else, he turns himself in in a plea deal. But the rest of the Team didn’t like that, and so, Roy appears in front of the convoy transporting Ollie…as the Arrow! Way to go, Roy, with lifetime imprisonment?
Joined a panel of mental health professionals, along with a novelist and journalist, to discuss the “struggle to survive and hang onto their humanity in the worst situations”, through the lens of The Walking Dead.
WonderCon 2015 was a celebration of popular culture and nerdery. It offered fans a chance to meet creators and artists, to see props and replicas, to meet some treasured celebrities, and even to attend panels for creators, mental health considerations, and favorite TV shows or upcoming films. (Also- lots of cosplay fun)

We ended last season on a cliffhanger (naturally) as O’Neill and company awakened from a cryo-slumber to find themselves in the far future. But, it was all part of a staged trap by old nemesis Hathor to get information. Meanwhile, Teal’c awakens at SGC and wants to search for his missing comrades. When he’s ordered not to, he takes his leave of the SGC to go on his own. And Hathor has a symbiote for a lucky member of SG-1. It’s just like The Bachelorette, but with controlling parasites as the prize (kinda like the actual show). So, let’s jump into season three, shall we? Continue reading
Trekked south this past weekend for the annual WonderCon event in Anaheim. The con continues to be a wonderful midsize event that draws a great crowd of awesome nerds. It’s certainly a smaller event than the summer shindig that is SDCC but that works in several ways- easier to breath without quite so many people, it’s easier to get in to events and panels, and without the major studios cramming the exhibit hall it gives fans a chance to actually chat with creators. This season, SG-1 managed to fight and destroy Apophis as a System Lord. Of course, they’ve had to contend with other System Lords in the interim, meet new allies (like the Tok’ra and the alien Asgard), and deal with enemies way foreign and domestic. So where will the remaining episodes of season two leave our heroes?
Welcome back, Arrowheads! Ollie is learning that turning down Ra’s offer of becoming the next Demon’s Head is harder than he thought. Ra’s is a persistent headhunter for good employees, because he has pretend Arrows murdering criminals, but now its escalated to murdering the mayor and threatening several people in the room where said mayor gets shafted, like Felicity, Ray, and daddy and Laurel Lance. I’m sure Quentin will take this well and behave in a sane and logical manner… Continue reading
A few weeks ago, it was announced that Tyler Hoechlin- “Derek” on MTV’s Teen Wolf– would be leaving the show. Now, it makes sense as his character was pushed out of a central role in the last season and half because there are a ton of teens on the show (and the actor reportedly wants freedom to do more movies) but… Derek is one of the reasons I watch the show.
