So Who Is Watching SUMMERSLAM 2015 Today?

23 Aug

As I write this there are still a few hours before the show begins… and I cannot believe I am excited to watch WWE. This will be the third WWE thing I have ever seen. The first was two weeks ago when Stephen Amell (“Oliver Queen” on Arrow) apppeared on WWE RAW. He ended up in the ring beating “Stardust” and being pulled off by “security”.  Continue reading

The X-MEN Movie: 15 Years Later

Stewart here…

Considering the output of comic book movies this year has been ranging from good (Kingsman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man) to bad (Fantastic Four), its important to remember a time when a superhero movie was a rarity. And in most cases, that rarity was more watered down versions of the core concept than a faithful adaptation. Cut to 1999, when director Bryan Singer was starting work on a big-budget adaptation of one of Marvel’s most popular batch of characters, the mutant heroes, the X-Men. That movie, released in the summer of 2000, was X-Men. Continue reading

Fantastic Four… why it failed to impress

19 Aug
Authors Note: I’ve not yet read the comics but I do have the Ultimate run to read as I travel the US in a couple weeks. I do have some knowledge of the FF but not much when it comes to the villains and supporting characters. Editors NoteWoohoo! Here’s an actual review of the recent Fantastic Four film. Poor Lee was so traumatized by it… I had to coerce him to write this just so we’d all understand why the Roger Corman film is better.

I’ll start off with what I enjoyed because there’s not much. Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 17-20

17 Aug
The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps will just kick back, watch its DVD of Armageddon, and be right here waiting.

Last time, SG-1 finally discovered who has been responsible for the attacks on their allies. Well, surprise it not being Apophis (he’s still dead), but its Anubis, the oldest System Lord in existence. He’s back from wherever he’s been to consolidate control of the System Lords and take over the galaxy. With him decimating the Tollans and striking a crippling blow against the Tok’ra, its only a matter of time before Earth is next! Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 9-12

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps really got screwed investing in the Tollan stock market. Kind of happens when a civilization’s economy is eradicated.

Stewart here…

If there’s a theme to this round of Minicaps, its revisiting old allies and haunts. We certainly did that last time with Cassandra’s puberty problems and Daniel’s Unas buddy, Chaka, leading a revolution to free his enslaved brethren. But we get to see some familiar faces (in one case, for the last time) this time, so let’s jump into it… Continue reading

Ant-Man – A Small Step But A Giant Leap Into The MCU

26 Jul

I’m not going to go on and give a full review because there are lots of those out there and my honest review of this is ‘Go see it, go see it now’. I want to talk more on about the effect this film has on the MCU, which is a lot. Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 5-8

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps is not sure what alien puberty is called, but someone needs to warn others about it in advance.

SG-1 just scored a major victory by finally killing Apophis permanently, as well as surviving another Replicator infested ship along the way. But as always, there were complications, like having to take Teal’c to the brink of death to cure him of Apophis’ brainwashing. Not that everything’s all wine and roses, with the System Lords still running around and those durn Replicators as well. Let’s find out how this next round of minicaps treats out intrepid team… Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 1-4

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps is considering hitching a ride with the USS Voyager to get back home.

Stewart here…

Last season, our heroes had to deal with the growing threat of Apophis, and his growing army. This led to a deadly gambit where SG-1 would destroy a sun as Apophis’ fleet was lured into that sun’s solar system. But, Teal’c was wounded and taken onto Apophis’ ship, and then the team’s escape from the supernova ended up putting them in another galaxy. As if things weren’t bad enough, Apophis’ flagship arrives with them as well! So how does SG-1 get out of this pickle? Continue reading

Stewart here…

So if you’ve been following the teases for the next season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, you might have heard the phrase “Secret Warriors” come up. What does that mean to this show? Clearly its a link to something related to Marvel comics, but what exactly? Hopefully this brief article will help explain that comic book connection. Continue reading
