Here we are middle halfway through the second week of major network TV… how are you holding up? Personally, I’ve gotten back in the swing of two returning shows. And picked up two new ones. Can’t wait til next week and the Flash and Arrow premieres!
What’s new? Continue reading
Stewart here, and be ready for spoilers on the horizon…
The fall season of TV starts once again, and Monday and Tuesday brought several nerd-related shows back on the air, along with a possible new addition to the ranks. Well, if to start easing myself into another season of minicaps for Arrow (and that’s still two weeks away), let’s talk about these NerdLush favorites, starting with the new kid in town. Continue reading
In just a few days, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will begin its second season. Before that happens, let’s take a look back at the series freshman season.
The bulk of the NerdLush crew bought into the series from the first episode- even with the ups and downs. And we’re pretty excited to see where the series goes after that season finale… Continue reading

The much anticipated season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts this fall, and we fans are beyond excited! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is written and produced by Joss Whedon (Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The show was met initially with criticism, perhaps due to sky-high expectations from Marvel die-hards.
I personally enjoy Whedon’s sort of dorky, campy humor. Whedon was the producer of the cult classic (and one of my favorite shows) “Firefly” which was tragically canceled after only one season. Firefly fans are probably better equipped to enjoy the pace and tone of AoS than strict devotees to The Avengers franchise.
Despite initial criticism, AoS has pushed on, and delivered an excellent end to Season One. They won over many of their prior naysayers, and shocked loyal viewers with new plots of intrigue, danger, mystery and unexpected betrayal. They left fans with a lot of questions. Here are my top 5: Continue reading
Stewart here…and fair warning, some big SPOILERS regarding recent episodes of Agents of SHIELD and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so in case you haven’t seen the latter and haven’t caught up on the former yet, you may want to avoid this article until later.

The Paley Fest is an amazing experience for fans to interact with their favorite shows. The 2014 festival is underway and NerdLush made it over for two of our favorite freshman shows- FOX’s Sleepy Hollow and ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The bonus for us is that both shows have recently had posts here because they quickly became favorites this year.
The Paley Fest has been growing over the last several years- similar to how SDCC has grown immensely over the last few years- and this year moved to a new home at the Dolby Theatre. This is the home of the Academy Awards- and it looks MUCH larger on TV then it is in person. But it is a beautiful theatre and adds opportunity to increase the size of the audience. Continue reading
It’s no secret that I am a fan of all things Whedon and Marvel, nor is it a secret that when I saw the pilot ep for S.H.I.E.L.D. at San Diego Comic Con 2013 I may have squee’d like a crazy puppy (ask my brother). But like others, I drifted over the next few episodes after the premiere last fall. I mean… I was still in for the season, but I didn’t feel the energy that I felt with the pilot.
We sat in Ballroom 20 all day on Friday in order to catch a few panels that we wanted to see. Yes, this means we got up ridiculously early and got in line well before the con opened. However, what I mean by that may not be what you think- we got to SDCC at 6:40am and joined the Ballroom 20 line at 7:15am, got let into the room at 9ish, with the con beginning at 9:30. Not that bad, actually. We know that there were some people in our line the day before. So we felt pretty good about being in the first half of the group that filled the room that morning. Yes, I am going to jump on the nerd bandwagon and tell you to go now and see this tiny little indie gem, from Joss Whedon and friends… Much Ado About Nothing. But let me be serious for a moment- go now. Get up from your computer and go. Well, go now if you live in New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. Go on June 21st for the rest of the US. And honestly, I forget the date for the UK etc. So look it up and go.
“Much Ado About Nothing” is my favorite Shakespeare play. I fell in love with it in high school, when the Kenneth Branagh film was released. Til tonight that was my definitive interpretation. Continue reading
