I have been meaning to sit down and update NerdLush about so many things, but time got away from me, I got caught up in a huge issue that I had to deal with in its entirety, and well… 2020. But I am hoping that this can be a fresh start.
This isn’t the kind of thing I want to be posting here but it’s my site and I can do what I want. Besides, I have been posting about selfcare this year and writing this is part of mine.

Let me start off by saying that over the last few years I have become someone who prefers cartoons and comic book based programs over most anything else. Sure, I know there is a ton of amazing TV out there and I have a vague interest in a lot of it but I also work 13 hour days at a prison. I don’t want to deal with cop shows, medical dramas, or real life. I want to watch superheroes save the day. My mom calls it “popcorn for the mind” and I’m totally OK with that.

As his run on Legends of Tomorrow comes to an end, it seems appropriate to take a few minutes and appreciate all that is Brandon Routh as he flies off to the next endeavor. I, personally, will miss his adorable sweetness and charm on the show, but am looking forward to whatever he does next.
As I recently posted, this past weekend had a convention in the South Valley of California and I trekked down with my partner in nerdery (my big brother and fellow nerd), James, to check it out. I was pretty blown away that it was the 12th year of the event and honestly the first time I had even heard about it. I honestly thought that ep of The Big Bang Theory was making it up!
I was wrong.
Excited to say that we are finally heading out to a convention this year. I know, it’s November and it’s the first event we’re attending but there’s been a drop in local events this year and while there are major events all over the country from conventions we love (like Wizard World) that have been on our interest list, spotlighting smaller events is a bit of a passion. You’d think that California would be able to support more events in the Central Valley but sadly, the numbers have dropped sharply in the last two years. Continue reading
Before Avengers: Endgame was released, I was talking to a friend about it and how excited I was to see it. He was excited, too. But then I reminded him that he hadn’t seen Captain Marvel yet (which, what the hell, dude?), so he couldn’t see Endgame for a bit still.
