Supergirl season 1… I believe a girl can fly!

27 Aug

Not gonna lie- I started watching Supergirl when it premiered and after a few weeks it went to the DVR back burner… not because it wasn’t fun but it conflicted with another show and I’m lazy. But with the recent release of season 1 on DVD I’ve been binging.

Welcome back, Arrowheads! If you haven’t heard the news yet, best to sit down for this headline: Laurel Lance is dead. I know what you’re asking, and it might be “Is she dead?” or “Is she really dead?”. Seems like “really dead” is the current answer right now. After discovering Diggle’s brother Andy is a straight up traitor and with Darhk killing Laurel, this has been a bad week for Team Arrow. And what about Quentin, who now has to bury another daughter? Let’s just get to it… Continue reading

Welcome back, Arrowheads! If you haven’t figured it out, this is the second half of a big Arrow/Flash crossover (which you can read the first half recap on A&V Stimuli), so let’s stick to what we learned on the Flash end: Vandal Savage, an immortal hunter who has been part of the big events of human history, visited Central City to kill Cisco’s new girlfriend, Kendra. Why? As we learn from a winged man (as in a man with hawk wings) called Carter Hall, she and him are lovers who have spent thousands of years being reincarnated and killed by Savage. When Barry Allen feels the Flash isn’t enough to stop him, he seeks Team Arrow’s help. Bad news, they can’t stop Savage, and with Savage recovering a superpowered staff, it looks like things are gonna get worse.

Welcome back, Arrowheads, to the end of season three of Arrow! It’s been a long road of twists and turns, but here we are, as the Heir to the Demon, aka Al-Sah-him, aka The Arrow, aka Oliver Queen, is about to cement his place in the League of Assassins. He’s already been married off to a reluctant Nyssa, seemingly gassed his former teammates with a deadly virus, the same virus he fought to stop being unleashed in Hong Kong years ago, and now that he has to unleash on Starling City! Can all the lunacy, betrayals, and tragedy that have happened all season be solved in this season finale? Probably not, but let’s see what happens anyway…

For those of you following my A&V Stimuli blog, you probably know I’ve been recapping Flash over there. But not to unintentionally leave you loyal NerdLush readers out of the loop, I thought it’d be fun to discuss my thoughts on the show so far here. Like my previous SHIELD post, let’s look at the good and bad that has come out of the last nine episodes. First, the good: Continue reading

Welcome back, Arrowheads! In case you missed it because, I covered the first part of this team-up event here, Team Arrow helped Team Flash with some problems in their neighborhood, so now it’s time for Team Flash to help Team Arrow out by working on the mystery of who killed Sara Lance. So, what does all of this have to with some hit man who has boomerang blades for weapons? Complications, complications… Continue reading
