ARROW Season 5×07, “Vigilante” recap

17 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  Team Arrow 2.0 has had its share of growing pains this season, but as bad as that has been, new villain Prometheus has really been keeping them off guard.  Ollie has been getting a bit more personal with reporter Susan Williams (who is totally investigating Ollie’s “stranded” years), Diggle is still a wanted man, and Quentin is blackout drinking and waking up with some of Prometheus’ throwing stars.  So what could make things worse in Star City and for Team Arrow 2.0? LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2×03, “Shogun” recap

16 Nov

Welcome back!  Previously: our time traveling heroes finally settled on a new captain with Sara, since it seems Rip is going to be harder to find than they thought.   Nate gets injured and has to be injected with some super-serum that saves his life, and who knows what else.  With all that settled, the team can get out of the Justice Society of America’s back and our of 1942.  But, our Big Bad this season, the Reverse-Flash, decides to seek some revenge and murders the JSA’s Rex Tyler, who Vixen discovers, and she is not happy about this.  How not happy is she?  Let’s see for ourselves… Continue reading

ARROW Season 5×06, “So It Begins” recap

10 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  Ollie’s been having a tough time with both his day job and night job as of late.  But with some big moves as mayor and capturing crime boss Tobias Church as the Green Arrow, it looks all gravy.  But there are some problems brewing, like reporter Susan Williams finding out Ollie was not stranded on an island for five years.  And there’s the threat of Prometheus, who murders Church while in police custody!  Who is this guy who isn’t but could be Malcolm Merlyn?   Continue reading

Notorious is guilty of being fun!

8 Nov

Much earlier than usual, I am able to declare my guilty pleasure show for the fall 2016 season- Notorious. I’ll be honest, I basically only watch my genre (superheroes/supernatural/fantasy) shows these days. I’ve stopped watching all my dramas or cop shows in the last few years since working at the prison- I’m tired when I get home and the comic book heroes don’t require a ton of thinking on my part. Bonus- they are better popcorn for the mind! So it’s weird to say that a show about a news program and a couple of lawyers is now something I look forward to.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2×02, “The Justice Society of America” recap

6 Nov

Welcome back!  When we last left our heroes, they had managed to stop the Nazis from blowing up New York in World War II.  But in the process, their captain, Rip Hunter, disappeared somewhere or maybe somewhen.  But they do have some new help in good-looking historian guy Nate Heywood.  And the source of the recent abberations in the timestream is a secret alliance between Damien Darhk and someone who knows about time travel, Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash!  Before our team can leave 1942 in their rearview, they get accosted by the superhero team known as the Justice Society of America!  One superteam meets another superteam?  No worries, then? ZappCon year 3

5 Nov

Last month we had the opportunity to attend the third year of ZappCon. This is still a small regional convention in Central California, but since it’s first year it has grown nicely- without getting two big for its britches.

ARROW Season 5×05, “Human Target” recap

3 Nov

Welcome back, Arrowheads!  When last we left Team Arrow 2.0, Ollie took a brief vacation to go break Diggle out of military jail for a crime he didn’t commit.  However, this setup for  Arrow‘s version of The A-Team is not to be, as the rest of the Team gets into it with Tobias Church, and losing Wild Dog as his prisoner.  So will they find Wild Dog before he gets turned into hamburger by the punch happy Church?  Before we find out that…   Continue reading
