We raise our kids to be nerds, but what about our pets?

My cats are nerds. That’s all there is to it.

And yes, a lot of it is for my amusement. Like the fact that they have Yoda ear costumes for Halloween. (And every Star Wars toy available for cats)

That’s all me.

The part that’s them is that they love the Marvel films (and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Arrow. In fact, Wicket is not allowed to watch Arrow sometimes because he gets excited by the parkour and practices it around the house. It’s pretty funny to watch. Except when he uses his claws in the furniture.

I recently rewatched the first season of AoS in preparation for the new season and Wicket would often sit right in front of the TV to watch with me. Gizmo is a fan of Nick Fury and has been known to run from other rooms to watch when he is (particularly for the opening of The Avengers).

You caught the names, right? Gizmo and Wicket. So they started with the nerd life early. And they were exposed to my show’s when they were just little kittens. So I’m wondering if any one else has turned their pets into nerds? It can’t just be me. I know it isn’t… I saw an instagram earlier of an actor walking his puppy with a Superman leash. Do you have a nerd pet story?

Here… look how cute they are. And don’t judge me- pets are good for our physical and mental health. 😛
