Time to upgrade…

It’s that time of year, or actually, it’s the end of my latest 2-year contract and I am in need of a new smart phone. Now, I’m a Droid girl. My dislike for all things Apple is pretty powerful. However- I am willing to listen to valid arguments.

I’ve been researching for a few months now; the only thing I haven’t done is actually go out and play with the phones. But what I really want is to hear from you about what your opinions are. Here are the top choices, in no particular order.

So many shiny toys!

Moto X
Samsung Galaxy
Razr M
Xperia Z
HTC One

I’m leaning towards the Moto X, but I’m open to suggestions.

Now because I recently had this conversation with a friend who still uses a basic flip phone, I thinks its important a smartphone starts by meeting the needs of its owner. Personally, I use mine for its calendar, email, and social networking abilities. I enjoy the camera and being able to use apps to play with and share photos. I enjoy having music at my fingertips. But a key thing has to be battery life. And also, something that isn’t… bitchy. If that makes sense.

In the past, I have discussed smartphones with some friends and Droid has remained my go-to for many reasons, but the main being that I am a google/gmail person and the apps are no where near as good on the iPhone. Have they improved? Many of my friends are big with the iPhone- more power to them, it just doesn’t work for me.
