The Stargate SG-1 Season Six Minicaps had to get some work done and now looks better than ever! You can’t even see the surgery scars!

Stewart here…

Welcome to season six, everyone! So a few things to know before we get this going: things haven’t been going so hot for our heroes. Their comrade, Daniel Jackson, got Ascended, so he’s not going to be joining us (for a while). They got a Bigger Bad in Anubis, a creepy System Lord who’s laying waste to SG-1’s allies. Just last time, the team saved the Asgard, Thor, from Anubis’ clutches, only to have him end up comatose. And they also have an alien, Jonas Quinn, who defected to their side now living in the SGC. This was all three months ago. So let’s check in on things in the SGC… Continue reading

What I Watched/Listened To On My Summer Vacation

31 Aug

Stewart here…

Summer used to be a great time to catch up on things I missed in the fall and spring, and while I can still do that to a certain extent, the summer has been doling out quality stuff on its own. So here’s a brief list of some things you might want to get on the bus for that I did this summer: Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 21-22 and Season Five Highlights

25 Aug
The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps is just going to try and pretend that one character’s demise is going to last. Spoilers: it doesn’t.

In the fight for the galaxy this season, Anubis is an old/new player that has shifted power dramatically. With most of SG-1’s allies either gone or on the fences, you’d think things wouldn’t get worse. Well, they do. And that’s after the team itself takes a heartbreaking loss… Continue reading

The X-MEN Movie: 15 Years Later

21 Aug

Stewart here…

Considering the output of comic book movies this year has been ranging from good (Kingsman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man) to bad (Fantastic Four), its important to remember a time when a superhero movie was a rarity. And in most cases, that rarity was more watered down versions of the core concept than a faithful adaptation. Cut to 1999, when director Bryan Singer was starting work on a big-budget adaptation of one of Marvel’s most popular batch of characters, the mutant heroes, the X-Men. That movie, released in the summer of 2000, was X-Men. Continue reading

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps will just kick back, watch its DVD of Armageddon, and be right here waiting.

Stewart here…

Last time, SG-1 finally discovered who has been responsible for the attacks on their allies. Well, surprise it not being Apophis (he’s still dead), but its Anubis, the oldest System Lord in existence. He’s back from wherever he’s been to consolidate control of the System Lords and take over the galaxy. With him decimating the Tollans and striking a crippling blow against the Tok’ra, its only a matter of time before Earth is next! Continue reading

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps never got an E-Vite to the big System Lord get together. Oh well, their loss.

Stewart here…

SG-1 had to deal with one of their most advanced allies, the Tollans, being taken out by a Goa’uld invasion force. What they don’t know is the mastermind of this attack is an unknown System Lord, but has Tanith (Teal’c’s nemesis) under his/her wing. So who is this new big player in the events of the show? Well, let’s get some answers in this round of Minicaps… Continue reading

Stargate SG-1 Minicaps / Season 5, Eps. 9-12

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps really got screwed investing in the Tollan stock market. Kind of happens when a civilization’s economy is eradicated.

Stewart here…

If there’s a theme to this round of Minicaps, its revisiting old allies and haunts. We certainly did that last time with Cassandra’s puberty problems and Daniel’s Unas buddy, Chaka, leading a revolution to free his enslaved brethren. But we get to see some familiar faces (in one case, for the last time) this time, so let’s jump into it… Continue reading

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps is not sure what alien puberty is called, but someone needs to warn others about it in advance.

Stewart here…

SG-1 just scored a major victory by finally killing Apophis permanently, as well as surviving another Replicator infested ship along the way. But as always, there were complications, like having to take Teal’c to the brink of death to cure him of Apophis’ brainwashing. Not that everything’s all wine and roses, with the System Lords still running around and those durn Replicators as well. Let’s find out how this next round of minicaps treats out intrepid team… Continue reading

The Stargate SG-1 Season Two Minicaps only used that extra Gate once, and it was for business purposes only.

The Stargate SG-1 Season Five Minicaps is considering hitching a ride with the USS Voyager to get back home.

Stewart here…

Last season, our heroes had to deal with the growing threat of Apophis, and his growing army. This led to a deadly gambit where SG-1 would destroy a sun as Apophis’ fleet was lured into that sun’s solar system. But, Teal’c was wounded and taken onto Apophis’ ship, and then the team’s escape from the supernova ended up putting them in another galaxy. As if things weren’t bad enough, Apophis’ flagship arrives with them as well! So how does SG-1 get out of this pickle? Continue reading

Stewart here…

So if you’ve been following the teases for the next season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, you might have heard the phrase “Secret Warriors” come up. What does that mean to this show? Clearly its a link to something related to Marvel comics, but what exactly? Hopefully this brief article will help explain that comic book connection. Continue reading
