It’s a new year and time to look back on the last year and determine how to make this one even better. And with all of the exciting films and TV shows coming soon, 2016 is looking pretty awesome. Or it could be a miserable failure.
One major piece that 2015 brought with it was a release of the guilt relating to not posting as regularly. We need a few more active posters to get posts happening more regularly. Til that happens… sometimes we’ll miss some days. Real life pays the bills so it has to happen.
2015 also allowed me to accomplish a personal nerdy life goal- co-writing a chapter in a published book. With several other awesome nerds, “Star Wars Psychology: Dark Side of the Mind” came about. Pretty damn proud of the PsychGeeks for this series of books.
TV has been awesome (though I only have the attention span for some shows- hopefully you’ve been following Stewart’s posts as he watches more than I). The Flash and Arrow have been kicking ass and taking names. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been up and down, but overall I come back every week because I love it. And that ending before the winter hiatus… Holy Shit! Sleepy Hollow s3 has been rocking, minus Pandora, making up for that season-that-shall-not-be-discussed. Gotham has also been packing the punches- a nice change as the first half of the first season it was touch and go. Looking forward to where it goes after the break. We’ve also been enjoying Supergirl. Not to mention the many shows on Netflix- bring on Daredevil s2!
Syfy has been running a ton of interesting things that I need to catching up with. However, other than Agent Carter and Legends of Tomorrow, I’m not sure if there’s anything coming up “new” at this point that I am interested in. Just bring my shows back ASAP.
Several epic films came out in 2015- Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max Fury Road, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, etc. It was a good year to go to the movies. Even San Andres was fun- glad to know the NerdLush HQ would survive. And there’s been a ton of others- though I don’t recall if I saw them on DVD/Netflix/HBO or in the theater. Oh, wait- I liked Man From U.N.C.L.E. a lot. And The Intern was surprisingly good.
This year we’ve got some major players coming- Captain America: Civil War looks awesome, Batman vs Superman still looks like crap but I’m willing to give it a chance, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is long overdue, Deadpool!!!, Ghostbusters could be good, Star Trek Beyond looks like a sequel to Galaxy Quest, and Suicide Squad. I just saw an ad for The 5th Wave and I’m interested to see it, maybe on DVD. Gods of Egypt continues to look like a whitewashed piece of crap. I’m unsure of Independence Day Resurgence, but hey… Jeff Goldblum did his awesome hip swagger in the trailer so I’ll be there.
It could be awesome. Or it could be a disaster.
This also promises to be an epic year for conventions. As of today, NerdLush has no plans to attend anything- at least not any firm ones- but every day a new convention comes into our view. Still trying to come up with a cosplay idea follows the cosplay rules… Thoughts?
I’m interested to hear what things y’all are interested in for 2016.
What do you think?
