Congratulations to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter on being renewed. Season two of S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t even aired its finale yet, but I am already giddy for what season three will bring me.
Mind, if Agent Ward doesn’t get to be redeemed or returned to a more regular position in three, I will be wearing my cranky pants all year.
After ABC announced its renewals and cancellations, there was a lot of love and discussion bouncing around my FaceBook and Twitter feeds. Love that it brought out discussion and not nearly as much kvetching as it could have. Actually, a lot of the comments I saw were relating to the fact that the S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff with Mockingbird and Hunter did not get greenlit. Which, I am fine with. I am OK with those characters, but a series with them would essentially just be S.H.I.E.L.D. with a different team. Also, I don’t feel the characters are anything more than accessories to the team- not main characters.
Not to mention that our main comments (and the ones I loved in my feed) were that the problem with the spinoff was that it wasn’t focused on J. August Richards “Deathlok”.
Not that we’re biased or anything.
Anyways, the point is that though S.H.I.E.L.D. still has its flaws, it is being given the opportunity to work those out. I wish that they’d worked them out this year… but I still loyally watch and love. Especially naughty and vaguely inappropriate Ward. Again- not biased.
Agent Carter was fabulous. A solid run to fill the blank of the S.H.I.E.L.D. hiatus. Really enjoyed Hayley Atwell showing up the boys with her awesomeness. All while wearing period skirts (except for the few times she wore slacks). I am super curious where the series will go now. Back to the development of S.H.I.E.L.D. from the SSR? Hope so, because the agency we saw in season one is not the S.H.I.E.L.D. of today (of course, the S.H.I.E.L.D. of today is not the S.H.I.E.L.D. from the start of the MCU…) and I want to see how that came about. With more adventures.
And hopefully more of the Howling Commandos!
Looking forward to the fall! Is it time yet?
