Fall TV Winners & Losers- what are your thoughts?

16 Nov

So it’s that time of year where we must reflect on the new fall television series and determine which ones are worth watching. I, personally, have not watched very many new ones- and certainly not for more than one or two episodes- so I am very interested to hear opinions.

Shall we begin?

Dracula

Jonathan-Rhys-MeyersThis may be my guilty pleasure for the season. I cannot say anything about redeeming values for this series… but there is Jonathan Rhys Meyers. And he’s frequently shirtless or more, so there’s that. Yet… I tune in and LOVE it.

Thoughts?

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

agents of shieldI don’t think it’s a surprise that I love this one. It isn’t perfect. But… every episode does take it one step closer. Though, I will say I was very disappointed by the second episode’s failure to distinguish between Mayan and Incan… but that’s me nitpicking.

Agree/disagree?

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

once-upon-a-time-in-wonderlandI actually haven’t watched this one yet. I initially heard from a source that it was weird and maybe not watchable. But then I was told by someone else that it is fabulous. So which is it? Should I actually catch up on the eps saved on my DVR?

Yes/no?

Sleepy Hollow

sleepy-hollow-1I can’t explain why I love this show. But I do. It’s fun. It’s got drama and action and that supernatural sci-fi element that just makes me happy. And that Tom Mison… dayum.

You’re with me on this, right? Right??

The Tomorrow People

The Tomorrow PeopleWell, I’ve only seen a few eps of this one, and so far it’s keeping my interest. But I’ve got the feeling that it could easily slip into completely forgettable.

Opinion?

Almost Human

almost humanOK, this one hasn’t premiered yet (two night event starts on November 17th), but I enjoyed the pilot so much at SDCC that I’m still sitting on the edge of my seat to see how it goes and if it can keep me in that zone.

Are you waiting for this one?

OK… so what are your shows? I know there are plenty that I haven’t even given a chance… tell me why I should!

Haven’t watched Dracula, not really into the Once Upon A Time stuff (mostly because of my love of the comic book Fables), but have been checking out SHIELD and Almost Human. SHIELD has been getting better for me, and Almost Human is good so far. Have Sleepy Hollow backlogged, along with some other new shows. May have to discuss it in a future post…eventually when I get the time.

Well, you are focused on NaNoWriMo this month, so all is forgiven. Agree on the rest… though Sleepy Hollow, IMO, is definitely worth it- it’s my guilty pleasure show of choice.

What do you think?
