Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ward… do we love him? Yes, we do.
26 JulAt the end of season 1 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Charity and I were working on a post about why we loved Agent Ward. Even though he was with Hydra and evil. Life happened, the finale aired, and we never finished it.
But it has lingered in the back of my mind ever since.

A very popular panel at WonderCon 2014 centered on the subject of Psychology of Cult TV shows. A full room including a standing back row watched as a panel of psychology experts discussed the rich subject matter that made up this topic in both its fictional context and its potential real-world impact. The panel included Dr. Janina Scarlet (The Superhero Manual), Josué Cardona (Geek Therapy), Dr. Travis Langley (Batman and Psychology: A Dark and Stormy Knight), and NerdLush Diva herself Elizabeth Ann.
Hunting the Wild Barrowman
15 AprOne would think that this mission- a picture with John Barrowman- would not be a difficult task, but this is a mission 5 years in the making! But in order to tell the story, I have to start at the beginning-
In the fall of 2006, I had uprooted myself from sunny California to the great city of Chicago in order to complete a masters degree. Through the social networking and fandoms at the time, I was blessed with friends all over the world- but none in Chicago. The closest people I knew were relatives in Wisconsin (who I didn’t really know) and a dear friend at the southern end of Illinois. So… as I waited for classes to start and semi wandered the city to acclimate myself, I also dug into shows and movies that I had missed. One such was the 2005 Doctor Who, with Christopher Eccleston. Now I remember watching DW as a kid on PBS (though I couldn’t tell you who my first Doctor was) and I know I watched the 1996 telefilm on FOX with the 8th Doctor, but I really didn’t know much about the series. Guilty Pleasures- Sleepy Hollow
12 MarEvery year there is at least one TV show that squeezes it’s way into my viewing schedule and steals my heart. In the 2012-2013 season it was Arrow. After seeing the pilot- which I loved- it was clear that the show could go either way. It could suck, burning and dying in an insane death, or it could be awesome. And it was AWESOME. So in the fall of 2013, Fox introduced a show that should’ve died after the second or third episode… but it didn’t.
